Pseudo-planar deformations of a linearized elastic solid
The equations of motion for the pseudo-planar motions of a classical linearized elastic solid and an incompressible linearized elastic solid undergoing non-uniform rotation about a vertical axis are derived. The pseudo-planar motions for both a classical

Spatio-Temporal Regulation of Rac1 Mobility by Actin Islands. [PDF]
Rho GTPases play important roles in many aspects of cell migration, including polarity establishment and organizing actin cytoskeleton. In particular, the Rho GTPase Rac1 has been associated with the generation of protrusions at leading edge of migrating

Consistency of Spectral Hypergraph Partitioning under Planted Partition Model
Hypergraph partitioning lies at the heart of a number of problems in machine learning and network sciences. Many algorithms for hypergraph partitioning have been proposed that extend standard approaches for graph partitioning to the case of hypergraphs ...

Nonuniform ACC Circuit Lower Bounds [PDF]
The class ACC consists of circuit families with constant depth over unbounded fan-in AND, OR, NOT, and MOD m gates, where m > 1 is an arbitrary constant. We prove the following. ---NEXP, the class of languages accepted in nondeterministic exponential time, does not ...

We show that the majority of the 18 analyzed recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming. The most potent mutations are activating, co‐operate with other ERBB receptors, and are sensitive to pan‐ERBB inhibitors. Activating ERBB4 mutations also promote therapy resistance in EGFR‐mutant lung cancer.

Pairing, waltzing and scattering of chemotactic active colloids
We study theoretically an active colloid whose polar axis of self-propulsion rotates to point parallel (antiparallel) to an imposed chemical gradient. We show that the coupling of this ‘chemotactic’ (‘antichemotactic’) response to phoretic translational ...

Uniform bounds for the number of rational points on curves of small Mordell--Weil rank
Let $X$ be a curve of genus $g\geq 2$ over a number field $F$ of degree $d = [F:Q]$. The conjectural existence of a uniform bound $N(g,d)$ on the number $\#X(F)$ of $F$-rational points of $X$ is an outstanding open problem in arithmetic geometry, known ...

Non-uniform Bound on Normal Approximation of Latin Hypercube Sampling
Loh (Loh, W.L, 1996b) established a Berry-Esseen type bound for $W$, the random variable based on a latin hypercube sampling, to the standard normal distribution. He used an inductive approach of Stein's method to give the rate of convergence $\frac{C_d}{\sqrt{n}}$ without the value of $C_d.$ In this article, we use a concentration inequality approach ...

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

Intrinsic flat convergence with bounded Ricci curvature [PDF]
In this paper we address the relationship between Gromov-Hausdorff limits and intrinsic flat limits of complete Riemannian manifolds. In \cite{SormaniWenger2010, SormaniWenger2011}, Sormani-Wenger show that for a sequence of Riemannian manifolds with ...
