Corrosion models of a mounded horizontal pressure vessel in a probabilistic approach [PDF]
The computations of fuel tanks are bound to cover uncertainties related to geometric and material imperfections, post-welding stresses, non-uniform settlement, and shell degradation due to corrosion.

Anomalies without Massless Particles
Baryon and lepton number in the standard model are violated by anomalies, even though the fermions are massive. This problem is studied in the context of a two dimensional model.

Spatio-Temporal Regulation of Rac1 Mobility by Actin Islands. [PDF]
Rho GTPases play important roles in many aspects of cell migration, including polarity establishment and organizing actin cytoskeleton. In particular, the Rho GTPase Rac1 has been associated with the generation of protrusions at leading edge of migrating

A lower bound for Torelli-K-quasiconformal homogeneity [PDF]
A closed hyperbolic Riemann surface M is said to be K-quasiconformally homogeneous if there exists a transitive family F of K-quasiconformal homeomorphisms.

Pairing, waltzing and scattering of chemotactic active colloids
We study theoretically an active colloid whose polar axis of self-propulsion rotates to point parallel (antiparallel) to an imposed chemical gradient. We show that the coupling of this ‘chemotactic’ (‘antichemotactic’) response to phoretic translational ...

Consistency of Spectral Hypergraph Partitioning under Planted Partition Model
Hypergraph partitioning lies at the heart of a number of problems in machine learning and network sciences. Many algorithms for hypergraph partitioning have been proposed that extend standard approaches for graph partitioning to the case of hypergraphs ...

Bounded cohomology and non-uniform perfection of mapping class groups [PDF]
Using the existence of certain symplectic submanifolds in symplectic 4-manifolds, we prove an estimate from above for the number of singular fibers with separating vanishing cycles in minimal Lefschetz fibrations over surfaces of positive genus. This estimate is then used to deduce that mapping class groups are not uniformly perfect, and that the map ...

A Fast Parameter Estimation Algorithm for Near-field Non-circular Signals
In this paper, a fast parameter estimation algorithm for near-field non-circular signals is proposed, which is based on symmetric, uniform, and linear array, that decouple the near-field steering vector via non-circularity and symmetry.

A non-uniform Datko–Pazy theorem for bounded operator semigroups
We present a non-uniform analogue of the classical Datko-Pazy theorem. Our main result shows that an integrability condition imposed on orbits originating in a fractional domain of the generator (as opposed to all orbits) implies polynomial stability of a bounded $C_0$-semigroup.

Bound states around vacuum in scalar ModMax model
In this work, we consider a two-dimensional scalar field model inspired by the dimensional reduction of a four-dimensional ModMax theory. Upon projecting out the 4D theory down to a 2D theory we obtain a theory which presents a constant electric field ...
