Bounds for Approximation in Total Variation Distance by Quantum Circuits [PDF]
It was recently shown that for reasonable notions of approximation of states and functions by quantum circuits, almost all states and functions are exponentially hard to approximate [Knill 1995].

Towards a complexity theory for the congested clique
The congested clique model of distributed computing has been receiving attention as a model for densely connected distributed systems. While there has been significant progress on the side of upper bounds, we have very little in terms of lower bounds for

Chemotherapy side effects significantly impact cancer survivors' quality of life. Using protein levels in blood samples from breast cancer patients before and after 12 weeks of taxane treatment, we detected treatment‐dependent changes in calcium signaling and aging pathways associated with cancer recurrence.

YIPFα1A expression is regulated by multilayered molecular mechanisms
YIPFα1A, a five‐pass Golgi protein, is regulated at multiple layers. (1) Rare‐codon enrichment drives translation‐coupled mRNA decay. (2) A proximal 3′‐UTR element stabilizes mRNA. (3) A distal 3′‐UTR element included by alternate poly(A) site usage represses translation, which can be overridden by the proximal 3′‐UTR element.

Fundamental Limits of Target Parameter Estimation in OFDM-Based 3D NTN ISAC Systems
This work investigates the fundamental performance bound of three-dimensional (3D) target localization and velocity estimation in monostatic orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM)-based ISAC systems equipped with uniform rectangular arrays ...

Nonuniform ACC Circuit Lower Bounds [PDF]
The class ACC consists of circuit families with constant depth over unbounded fan-in AND, OR, NOT, and MOD m gates, where m > 1 is an arbitrary constant. We prove the following. ---NEXP, the class of languages accepted in nondeterministic exponential time, does not ...

Derivation and characterization of retinal pigment epithelium from urine‐derived iPSCs
Age‐related macular degeneration causes vision loss via RPE dysfunction and loss. Traditional iPSC therapies rely on invasive biopsies, limiting scalability. Here, we utilize urine‐derived stem cells as an accessible source to generate u‐iPSCs, successfully differentiated into pigmented RPE. This “Urine‐to‐Retina” platform provides a promising path for

Early‐life exposure to a high‐fat diet altered intact Achilles tendons in rat offspring, making them thinner, stiffer, and molecularly distinct even without injury. These findings suggest that developmental high‐fat diet exposure may impair tendon quality and increase susceptibility to mechanical overload or tendon injury later in life.

Restriction of toral eigenfunctions to hypersurfaces and nodal sets [PDF]
We give uniform upper and lower bounds for the L^2 norm of the restriction of eigenfunctions of the Laplacian on the three-dimensional standard flat torus to surfaces with non-vanishing curvature.
