Monochromatic loose paths in multicolored $k$-uniform cliques [PDF]

open access: yesDiscrete Mathematics & Theoretical Computer Science, 2019
For integers $k\ge 2$ and $\ell\ge 0$, a $k$-uniform hypergraph is called a loose path of length $\ell$, and denoted by $P_\ell^{(k)}$, if it consists of $\ell $ edges $e_1,\dots,e_\ell$ such that $|e_i\cap e_j|=1$ if $|i-j|=1$ and $e_i\cap e_j=\emptyset$

Nonuniform ACC Circuit Lower Bounds [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the ACM, 2011
The class ACC consists of circuit families with constant depth over unbounded fan-in AND, OR, NOT, and MOD m gates, where m > 1 is an arbitrary constant. We prove the following. ---NEXP, the class of languages accepted in nondeterministic exponential time, does not ...

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

A numerical comparative study for the singularly perturbed nonlinear Volterra-Fredholm integro-differential equations on layer-adapted meshes

open access: yesMiskolc Mathematical Notes
This article deals with the singularly perturbed nonlinear Volterra-Fredholm integro-differential equations. Firstly, some priori bounds are presented.

Characters, quasinormal modes, and Schwinger pairs in dS2 with flux

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2022
An integral representation of the 1-loop partition function for charged scalars and spinors, minimally coupled to a uniform U(1) field on S 2, is given in terms of SO(1, 2) Harish-Chandra group characters and evaluated exactly in terms of Hurwitz ζ ...

Concurrent design for structures and material microstructures under hybrid uncertainties

open access: yesMaterials & Design, 2021
This study presents a novel topology optimization method for the robust design of structures and material microstructures. Uncertainties are usually ubiquitous and of different sources, and especially hybrid uncertainties widely exist in structural ...

Non-uniform Bound on Normal Approximation of Latin Hypercube Sampling

open access: yesJournal of Mathematics Research, 2009
Loh (Loh, W.L, 1996b) established a Berry-Esseen type bound for $W$, the random variable based on a latin hypercube sampling, to the standard normal distribution. He used an inductive approach of Stein's method to give the rate of convergence $\frac{C_d}{\sqrt{n}}$ without the value of $C_d.$ In this article, we use a concentration inequality approach ...

In vitro models of cancer‐associated fibroblast heterogeneity uncover subtype‐specific effects of CRISPR perturbations

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...

Perspectives in educating molecular pathologists on liquid biopsy: Toward integrative, equitable, and decentralized precision oncology

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Liquid biopsy enables minimally invasive, real‐time molecular profiling through analysis of circulating biomarkers in biological fluids. This Perspective highlights the importance of training pathologists through integrative educational programs, such as the European Masters in Molecular Pathology, to ensure effective and equitable implementation of ...

On the scaling from statistical to representative volume element in thermoelasticity of random materials

open access: yesNetworks and Heterogeneous Media, 2006
Under consideration is the finnite-size scaling of effective thermoelastic properties of random microstructures from a Statistical Volume Element(SVE) to a Representative Volume Element (RVE), without invoking any periodic structure assumptions, but only
