Magnetization reversal under non-uniform magnetic fields

Digest of INTERMAG 2003. International Magnetics Conference (Cat. No.03CH37401), 2004
In this paper, we describe the effects of non-uniform field distribution on the magnetisation reversal process.

Non-Uniform Gravitational Fields and Clock Paradoxes

American Journal of Physics, 1973
Two experiments which can be performed in arbitrarily small volumes of space and without reference to external fixed objects to determine the geometry of a satellite orbit in a spherically symmetric gravitational field are described. They are of interest in explaining the aging asymmetry which occurs in a recently published variation of the ...

Dislocation distributions in non-uniform stress fields

Materials Science and Engineering: A, 1990
Abstract The effect of non-uniform stress fields on the dislocation distributions have been examined for four possible cases: A, a group of dislocations piled up at an immovable obstacle; B, a group of dislocations piled up at a locked dislocation; C, a group of dislocations emitted from a source; and D, free expansion of a group of dislocations ...

Plasmons in spatially non-uniform magnetic fields

Physica B: Condensed Matter, 1998
Abstract A non-planar two-dimensional electron gas (2DEG) has been realised by using molecular beam epitaxy to grow a high mobility heterostructure on a (1 0 0) n+-GaAs layer selectively etched to create a two-dimensional array of cavities through the n+-GaAs which are bounded by higher-index facets.

The acoustic field in non-uniform layers

Journal of Sound and Vibration, 1975
The numerical solution of field problems with non-uniform media requires fidelity in the conversion of the mathematical description from continuous to discrete followed by efficient and accurate performance of the ensuing calculations. Here, the conversion process into a matrix equation has been accomplished with minimized distortion to the continuous ...

Bubble growth in non-uniform temperature fields

Chemical Engineering Science, 1971
Abstract A previous theoretical model for bubble growth in superheated liquids has been extended to non-uniform temperature fields. The growth rate has been assumed as controlled by heat transfer, surface tension, liquid inertia and non-equilibrium at the liquid—vapor interface.

Harmonic Fields in a Non Uniform Plasma

IEEE Transactions on Plasma Science, 1974
The magnitudes of the harmonic fields which are generated when an alternating electric field is applied to a plasma are calculated. The plasma has a density gradient and is immersed in a uniform static magnetic field. The harmonics are very strongly excited near the upper hybrid frequency.

NMR Images Produced in a Substantially Non‐Uniform Field

Australasian Radiology, 1985
SUMMARYNMR images of distinct sections through a three‐dimensional phantom were obtained using steady magnetic fields much less uniform than those generally considered necessary for NMR imaging, but whose substantial gradient served to define the slices to be imaged.

Effects of Non-Uniform Crosswind Fields on Scintillometry Measurements

Boundary-Layer Meteorology, 2011
The effects of a non-uniform wind field along the path of a scintillometer are investigated. Theoretical spectra are calculated for a range of scenarios where the crosswind varies in space or time and compared to the ‘ideal’ spectrum based on a constant uniform crosswind.
