Electron Heating by Non-Uniform Electric Field
1974Current-voltage characteristics of asymmetrically necked samples cut from uniform single crystal of germanium become asymmetric at high electric fields. Current instabilities due to impact ionization are observed. A dc electromotive force arises in such samples in a large microwave field.

DEP-FFF: Field-Flow Fractionation Using Non-Uniform Electric Fields
Journal of Liquid Chromatography & Related Technologies, 1997Dielectrophoresis (DEP) - the movement of particles in non-uniform electric fields - can be used in combination with Field Flow Fractionation (FFF) to separate particles with differing dielectric properties. An introduction is given to the technique of DEP-FFF and its application to the separation of cells and other particles.

Electric field simulation in a non-uniform field dielectric system
[1990] Proceedings. The Twenty-Second Southeastern Symposium on System Theory, 2002The charge simulation method (CSM) is used to compute potential and electric field distribution in a 'hyperboloid-plane' electrode system. Electric field enhancement along the axis of the hyperboloid and within the dielectric is calculated at various interelectrode spacings and with various tip radii.
