Reconfigurable, non-volatile neuromorphic photovoltaics
The neural network image sensor-which mimics neurobiological functions of the human retina-has recently been demonstrated to simultaneously sense and process optical images. However, highly tunable responsivity concurrent with non-volatile storage of image data in the neural network would allow a transformative leap in compactness and function of these

Heterogeneous III-V/Si micro-ring laser array with multi-state non-volatile memory for ternary content-addressable memories [PDF]
In this work, we introduce programmable memory elements embedded within III-V/Si light sources which facilitate non-volatile wavelength tuning. These non-volatile III-V/Si micro-ring lasers (MRLs) exhibit non-volatile wavelength shifts of ~80 pm with ...

For the entire careers of most practicing computer scientists, a fundamental observation has consistently held true: CPUs are significantly more performant and more expensive than I/O devices. The fact that CPUs can process data at extremely high rates, while simultaneously servicing multiple I/O devices, has had a sweeping impact on the design of both

Memristor Degradation Analysis Using Auxiliary Volt-Ampere Characteristics
The memristor is one of the modern microelectronics key devices. Due to the nanometer scale and complex processes physic, the development of memristor state study approaches faces limitations of classical methods to observe the processes.

Making non-volatile nanomagnet logic non-volatile [PDF]
Field-coupled nanomagnets can offer significant energy savings at iso-performance versus CMOS equivalents. Magnetic logic could be integrated with CMOS, operate in environments that CMOS cannot, and retain state without power. Clocking requirements lead to inherently pipelined circuits, and high throughput further improves application-level performance.
