A Patient‐Derived Organ‐on‐Chip Platform for Modeling the Tumor Microenvironment and Drug Responses in Pancreatic Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Researchers have developed a patient‐derived organ‐on‐a‐chip model for pancreatic cancer by integrating cancer cells with supportive stromal and immune cells inside a microfluidic device. This system mimics the tumor microenvironment, enabling personalized testing of chemotherapy and immunotherapy, and offering new insights into how targeting ...

Dampak Bank Specific Variables Pada Rasio Non Performing Loan Dalam Sistem Perbankan Indonesia

open access: yesJurnal Manajemen Teori dan Terapan, 2016
Conventional banks are vulnerable to non-performing loans, because the credit is the main source income of a bank. Credit risk may still occur, even though the bank's management has made efforts based credit rating 5C.

Two Novel S‐methyltransferases Confer Dimethylsulfide Production in Actinomycetota

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies two novel S‐adenosine‐methionine‐dependent methyltransferases, MddM1 and MddM2, in actinomycetes from the Mariana Trench. These enzymes can convert toxic hydrogen sulfide (H2S) and methanethiol (MeSH) into dimethylsulfide (DMS), serving as a cellular detoxification and oxidative stress response.

CD168 Identifies Proliferating Pancreatic Islet Cells in Murine and Human

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies CD168 as a conserved surface marker for proliferating β‐cells in mouse, human islets, and pancreatic islet tumors. CD168⁺ cells show high proliferation and low insulin expression. CD168+ cells form mostly uni‐β lineage clones, and some of the clones are multi‐lineage.

Identification and Characterization of an In Silico Designed Membrane‐Active Peptide with Antiviral Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An evolutionary molecular dynamics platform is used to design P1.6, a membrane‐active peptide that senses lipid packing defects in viral envelopes. P1.6 adopts a stabilized α‐helical structure upon membrane contact, disrupts virus‐like liposomes, and damages HIV‐1 particles.

Uncovering the Lipid Interface in Neurotransmission: Single Molecule Measurements of Neurotransmitters Interacting with Membranes Reveal Species Dependent Membrane Binding

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Using single‐molecule whispering gallery mode sensors, neurotransmitter‐specific membrane binding signatures are measured that reveal intrinsically distinct interaction kinetics and orientations on a lipid membrane. Abstract Neurotransmitters (NTs) have traditionally been understood to act via aqueous‐phase receptor binding, but growing evidence ...

CREDIT RISK MANAGEMENT AND PROFITABILITY OF DEPOSIT MONEY BANKS IN NIGERIA

open access: yesMalete Journal of Accounting and Finance, 2023
Banks in all climes are primarily faced with problem of credit risk whenever they mediate between the surplus and the deficit units of the economy. This study examined the impact of credit risk management on the profitability of deposit money banks in ...
