Multiple front and pulse solutions in spatially periodic systems
Abstract In this paper, we develop a comprehensive mathematical toolbox for the construction and spectral stability analysis of stationary multiple front and pulse solutions to general semilinear evolution problems on the real line with spatially periodic coefficients.

Mimicking Life: Autonomous Oscillating Artificial Cilia Driven by Chemical Power
The synthesis and motion analysis of chemically actuated, individually autonomous artificial cilia are presented. Driven by an internal chemical reaction, the self‐driven individual cilia require no external stimuli. They undergo periodic oscillatory motion with a 3D beat pattern and exhibit chemotactic shifts, reminiscent of biological systems.

Lyapunov functions for cocycle attractors in nonautonomous difference equations [PDF]
The construction of a Lyapunov function characterizing the pullback attraction of a cocycle attractor of a nonautonomous discrete time dynamical system involving Lipschitz continuous mappings is ...

Transposon Ecology and the Octopus Genome
Transposable elements (TEs) are mobile strands of DNA prevalent in octopus genomes. TE activity in the octopus brain might reflect an organism‐beneficial role in cognition; or could be a deleterious byproduct of TE parasitism. Viewing TEs from a genome‐ecology perspective generates novel predictions about differential expression levels across “genomic ...

Abstract Cupuassu (Theobroma grandiflorum) is a fruit tree native to the Brazilian Amazon and increasingly relevant to regional bioeconomies. Its cultivation is severely affected by witches’ broom disease (WBD), caused by Moniliophthora perniciosa. While a chromosome‐scale genome of the susceptible genotype C1074 is available, the lack of a resistant ...

Forecasting the forced van der Pol equation with frequent phase shifts using Reservoir Computing
We tested the performance of reservoir computing (RC) in predicting the dynamics of a specific nonautonomous dynamical system. Specifically, we considered a van der Pol oscillator subjected to a periodic external force with frequent phase shifts.

Continuous data assimilation for the Richards equation of unsaturated flow: A computational study
Abstract Azouani–Olson–Titi data assimilation (often referred to as AOT, after its authors) is a computationally‐efficient algorithm that has been shown analytically and computationally to recover the true solution for a wide variety of regimes exponentially fast in time, in addition to being robust with respect to noisy data, stochastic forcing, and ...

This review explores functional and responsive materials for triboelectric nanogenerators (TENGs) in sustainable smart agriculture. It examines how particulate contamination and dirt affect charge transfer and efficiency. Environmental challenges and strategies to enhance durability and responsiveness are outlined, including active functional layers ...

Topological sequence entropy of nonautonomous dynamical systems
Let $f_{0,\infty}=\{f_n\}_{n=0}^{\infty}$ be a sequence of continuous self-maps on a compact metric space $X$. Firstly, we obtain the relations between topological sequence entropy of a nonautonomous dynamical system $(X,f_{0,\infty})$ and that of its ...
