Microglial Fkbp5 Impairs Post‐Stroke Vascular Integrity and Regeneration by Promoting Yap1‐Mediated Glycolysis and Oxidative Phosphorylation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 16, 18 March 2026.
A post‐stroke perivascular niche of microglia characterized by low expression of M2 markers and elevated glycolysis, oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS), and phagocytic activity is identified, which is termed stroke‐activated vascular‐associated microglia (stroke‐VAM).

TOPK Inhibition Promotes Anti‐Tumor Immunity Via eIF4F Complex Mediated STAT1 Translation in Gastric Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 13, 3 March 2026.
This study identifies TOPK as a dual‐function target in gastric cancer: it drives tumor cell proliferation and migration, and under IFN‐γ stimulation, phosphorylates eIF4F complex component eIF4A1 to enhance STAT1 mRNA translation, thereby promoting PD‐L1/IDO1‐mediated tumor immunometabolic evasion.

Effect of Using the Food Quotient as a Proxy of the Respiratory Quotient in the Calculation of Energy Expenditure by the Doubly Labeled Water Method in Older Adults

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Human Biology, Volume 38, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims Accurate measurement of total energy expenditure (TEE) is critical for maintaining energy balance and body weight. This study aimed to analyze differences in TEE assessed by the doubly labeled water method (DLW‐TEE), using food quotient (FQ) derived from self‐reported 24‐h dietary recalls, respiratory quotient measured by ...

The Role of the C‐Reactive Protein–Triglyceride Glucose Index in Predicting New‐Onset Chronic Diseases: Evidence From a Longitudinal Cohort Study

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 16, Issue 3, March 2026.
Elevated CTI was significantly associated with increased risks of new‐onset hypertension, diabetes, dyslipidemia, stroke, liver disease, and osteoarthritis. ABSTRACT Background The C‐reactive protein–triglyceride glucose index (CTI) is an emerging biomarker reflecting both systemic inflammation and insulin resistance.

1,5‐Anhydroglucitol and Time in Range as Complementary Markers for Diabetic Retinopathy in Type 2 Diabetes

open access: yesDiabetes/Metabolism Research and Reviews, Volume 42, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Aims The potential benefit of integrating continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) data with conventional glycaemic indicators in diabetes care remains to be determined. This study aimed to investigate the association between 1,5‐anhydroglucitol (1,5‐AG), a 1–2 weeks glycaemic marker with monitoring duration comparable to CGM, and diabetic ...
