Measuring the completeness of death registration in 2844 Chinese counties in 2018
Background Death registration completeness has never been assessed at the county level in China. Such analyses would provide critical intelligence to monitor the performance of the vital registration system and yield adjustment factors to correct death ...

NPM1 selectively sorts specific mRNAs into extracellular vesicles (EVs) by recognizing RNA motifs and forming phase‐separated condensates. These mRNA cargos—including EGFR—are then loaded via multivesicular bodies. This active sorting pathway, validated in EVs derived from both lung cancer cells and patient serum, reveals a specific mechanism for ...

Integrated scRNA‐seq, scTCR‐seq analysis, and functional assays identify PRDM1+ malignant epithelial cells with hyper lipid peroxidation characteristics that demonstrate reduced responsiveness to the nICRT treatment. Principal factor PRDM1 activates cysteine metabolism genes to modulate lipid peroxidation (an intrinsic cellular pathway related to ...

Connexin43 Deficiency Leads to Ventricular Arrhythmias by Reprogramming Proline Metabolism
The study demonstrated that connexin43 (Cx43) knockout caused arrhythmic phenotype and decreased proline content in vitro and in vivo. Mechanistically, Cx43 interacts with the amino acid transporter SNAT2 (sodium‐dependent neutral amino acid transporter), and its deficiency disrupts proline transport and metabolism.

Integration of a pancreatic eQTL map with a GWAS meta‐analysis identifies 82 putative functional variants and 15 genes. The association between rs11102484 and pancreatic cancer risk is observed in a total of 5699 cases and 8467 controls. The G allele of rs11102484 weakens ZNF263 binding and the silencer‐promoter interaction, thereby increasing ST7L ...

Monitoring of noncommunicable diseases [PDF]
AbstractNoncommunicable diseases (NCDs) represent a major fraction of the global health burden in terms of morbidity and mortality, and its prevalence is on the rise across the world. As more and more people are living with various NCD, primary and secondary prevention becomes an important tool to contain this impending epidemic.

Oncolytic Probiotics with Molecular Pili for Solid Tumor Therapy
This study identifies Lactobacillus rhamnosus as an intrinsic oncolytic agent that triggers tumor metabolic collapse via calcium‐dependent ROS bursts. By chemically anchoring collagen‐targeting “molecular pili” to the bacterial surface, the engineered non‐transgenic probiotic (LR@MP) achieves targeted colonization and potent solid tumor suppression ...
