Mesoscopic nonequilibrium thermodynamics; irreversible processes and fluctuations
Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and Its Applications, 1999Abstract A theory of mesoscopic nonequilibrium thermodynamics is proposed, incorporating into thermodynamics of irreversible processes the treatment of fluctuations of macroscopic variables, as well as of fluctuations of their distribution functions.

Abstract The question of the definition and measurement of nonequilibrium temperature is considered. Its characterization in the framework of an informational statistical thermodynamics is done, and its dependence on the irreversible fluxes that develop in systems out of equilibrium is proved.

Thermodynamics of Nonequilibrium Irreversible Processes
1995In this chapter we are going to get an overview of the feasibility of thermodynamic and Statistical theory for describing dynamic and fluctuative nonequilibrium processes in arbitrary dissipative open systems.

Concerning the formulation of the irreversibility principle in locally nonequilibrium thermodynamics
Journal of Engineering Physics and Thermophysics, 2010It is shown that in the existing locally nonequilibrium thermodynamic theory there are a number of paradoxes that can be interpreted as an indication that the used formulation of the second law of thermodynamics is insufficiently complete. An additional thermodynamic postulate allowing one to remove these paradoxes and having close analogies in other ...

Our analysis of time reversal symmetry of various dynamical equations of fluid dynamics including Boltzmann integro-differential equation reveals that in a good number of cases there are no unique methods to relegate them to the so-called irreversible category unambiguously though they neither can be grouped into the reversible category.
