Thermodynamics: What One Needs to Know
Thermodynamics is the foundation of many of the topics of interest in the religion‐science dialogue. Here a nonmathematical outline of the principles of thermodynamics is presented, providing a historical and conceptually understandable development that

Quantifying Hidden Order out of Equilibrium
While the equilibrium properties, states, and phase transitions of interacting systems are well described by statistical mechanics, the lack of suitable state parameters has hindered the understanding of nonequilibrium phenomena in diverse settings, from

DNA machinery represents a burgeoning frontier at the intersection of robotics and nanotechnology, evolving from static nanostructure toward dynamic nanorobots. Here, the authors review the comprehensive research pipeline of designer DNA‐based nanomachines, covering the design, analysis, and fabrication. These programmable systems enable transformative

Thermodynamics and statistical mechanics of chemically powered synthetic nanomotors
Colloidal motors with micrometer dimensions and no moving parts can be propelled by self-diffusiophoresis. Coupling between molecular concentration gradients generated by asymmetric surface chemical reactions and the velocity slip between colloidal ...

We review and improve previous work on non-equilibrium classical and quantum statistical systems, subject to potentials, without ab initio dissipation. We treat classical closed three-dimensional many-particle interacting systems without any “heat ...

Nonequilibrium Statistical Mechanics of Dividing Cell Populations
We present and study a model for the nonequilibrium statistical mechanics of protein distributions in a proliferating cell population. Our model describes how the total protein variation is shaped by two processes: variation in protein production internal to the cells and variation in division and inheritance at the population level.

Mind and Cosmos as Throughput Systems: A Convergence Through the Throughput Model
ABSTRACT This paper advances a conceptual and mathematical foundations approach by applying the throughput model (TPM) to cosmic phenomena, reframing the universe as an extended information processing system. TPM's four stages, Perception, Information, Judgement and Decision Choice, are reformulated in explicit information‐theoretic and dynamical ...

The study investigates the influence of DED‐Arc/M versus casting on the microstructure and material properties of X40CrMoV5‐1 (AISI H13) hot‐work tool steel. DED‐Arc/M yields finer microstructures, superior mechanical strength, and ductility, but slightly reduced thermal conductivity.
