Hip morphology‐based osteoarthritis risk prediction models: development and external validation using individual participant data from the World COACH Consortium

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objectives This study aims to develop hip morphology‐based radiographic hip osteoarthritis (RHOA) risk prediction models and investigates the added predictive value of hip morphology measurements and the generalizability to different populations. Methods We combined data from nine prospective cohort studies participating in the World COACH consortium ...

On the nonexistence of iterative roots

open access: yesTopology and its Applications, 1997
The paper deals with the existence of a continuous iterative root of a given order for the germ of a holomorphic mapping \(F: (U,0) \to (\mathbb C,0)\) of the form \(F(z) =\rho z+ \dots\) where \(\rho\) is the primitive root of unity of order \(\geq 2\). Conditions guaranteeing the existence of this root and the topological linearizability of \(F\) are

Toward Zero‐Excess Alkali Metal Batteries: Bridging Experimental and Computational Insights

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review explores zero‐excess alkali metal batteries, highlighting anode–electrolyte interfaces, metal nucleation, dendrite growth, and SEI formation while comparing Li, Na, and K metals. It critically examines electrolyte and separator roles, emphasizing substrate design, electrolyte modifications, interfacial engineering, and solid‐state ...

Blow-up of solutions to fractional differential inequalities involving ψ-Caputo fractional derivatives of different orders

open access: yesAIMS Mathematics, 2022
We consider a fractional differential inequality involving $ \psi $-Caputo fractional derivatives of different orders, with a polynomial nonlinearity and a singular potential term.

Nonexistence of stable solutions to quasilinear elliptic equations on Riemannian manifolds

open access: yes, 2016
We prove nonexistence of nontrivial, possibly sign changing, stable solutions to a class of quasilinear elliptic equations with a potential on Riemannian manifolds, under suitable weighted volume growth conditions on geodesic ...

Simultaneous Multifrequency Modulated Wireless Information and Power Transfer for a Triboelectronic Monitoring System

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A ultrasound‐driven triboelectric nanogenerator multi‐frequency modulated simultaneous wireless power and information transmission (US‐TENG‐MF‐SWIPT) system is proposed for various intelligent microsystems, which increases the efficiency of information transmission multiply with almost no reduction in the power transmission efficiency.

Nonexistence of an integral of the 6th degree in momenta for the Zipoy-Voorhees metric

open access: yes, 2011
We prove nonexistence of a nontrivial integral that is polynomial in momenta of degree less than 7 for the Zipoy-Voorhees spacetime with the parameter $\delta=2$Comment: 7 pages, no ...

Nanoscopic Mapping of the Extracellular Space in Amyloid Plaque‐rich Cortex

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The extracellular space and diffusion around amyloid plaques are examined using shadow imaging and single‐particle tracking. Increased diffusivity is found near plaques, extracellular matrix alterations, and plaque core penetrability that varies with amyloid phenotype.

Generalized $1$-harmonic Equation and The Inverse Mean Curvature Flow

open access: yes, 2010
We introduce and study generalized $1$-harmonic equations (1.1). Using some ideas and techniques in studying $1$-harmonic functions from [W1] (2007), and in studying nonhomogeneous $1$-harmonic functions on a cocompact set from [W2, (9.1)] (2008), we ...
