When conservation meets contagion: Mapping yellow fever risk to guide vaccination in an endangered primate

open access: yesJournal of Applied Ecology, Volume 63, Issue 6, June 2026.
Spatial projections revealed high‐risk areas for YF transmission, highlighting priority zones for targeted vaccination efforts in GLTs. By integrating disease ecology into conservation planning, this study offers a scalable framework for spatially informed interventions aimed at mitigating disease‐driven declines in threatened species.

Sex‐Specific Regulation of the Turandot Gene Family Modulates Temperature‐Dependent Lifespan in Drosophila melanogaster

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 25, Issue 6, June 2026.
Multi‐omics analysis in Drosophila reveals that temperature‐driven lifespan changes are actively regulated, not purely thermodynamic. The Turandot gene family mediates this response, and its knockdown extends lifespan across temperatures with sex‐specific effects, establishing tot genes as key genetic regulators of thermal longevity.

Learning Mechanisms in Alcohol Use Disorders

open access: yesAddiction Biology, Volume 31, Issue 6, June 2026.
Learning mechanisms mediate the initiation, maintenance, and treatment of AUD. ABSTRACT Pavlovian and operant learning mechanisms promote and maintain alcohol intake despite aversive consequences. Here, we review the evidence for drug‐associated modifications of basic learning mechanisms during the initiation and maintenance of alcohol use disorders in

Modelling a Suitable Habitat for Nigeria–Cameroon Chimpanzees (Pan troglodytes ellioti, Matschie, 1914) in Mpem and Djim National Park, Central Cameroon

open access: yesAfrican Journal of Ecology, Volume 64, Issue 4, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Tropical forest mammalian communities, particularly those in ecological transition zones, are under constant threat from human activity. In many regions, there is a lack of baseline data on suitable habitats and the environmental factors influencing their suitability.
