Abstract Background and Objectives In 2020, Brazil implemented individual donor assessment (IDA), expanding eligibility to include individuals previously deferred, such as men who have sex with men (MSM). We assessed human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) incidence and correlates of incident infection among blood donors following this policy change ...

Brain aging alters perineuronal nets and neuroinflammation. 4‐methylumbelliferone reversed these aging‐associated changes. 4‐methylumbelliferone reduced age‐associated cognitive decline. Six months of chronic oral treatment was well tolerated. ABSTRACT Aging‐associated cognitive decline is closely linked to dysregulated glial activity and chronic ...

ABSTRACT Purpose To evaluate lesion severity distribution in ischaemic brain lesions in spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR) subjected to 90‐min transient middle cerebral artery occlusion (tMCAO), and to determine whether epigenetically based neuroprotection modifies lesion severity profiles using a voxel‐wise T2 distribution framework.

Brain viral reservoirs were undetectable in neonatal SIV during the first 3 days post infection; antiretroviral therapy (ART) at 3 dpi prevented brain reservoir seeding and normalized metabolic function, highlighting the necessity of very early treatment to protect the developing CNS.

The Sounds of Trust: The Bouba–Kiki Effect in Political Leaders' Names
ABSTRACT Prior research has found evidence for the bouba–kiki effect according to which individuals associate sounds related to “bouba” and “kiki” with shapes and feelings. Using individual data from the World Values Survey, we investigate whether political leaders with names that sound “bouba” or “kiki” are associated with higher or lower trust.

Optimized Lipid Nanoparticles with Tail‐Modified Ionizable Lipids for Safer mRNA Delivery
Systematic engineering of hydrophobic tail architecture in vitamin B5‐derived ionizable lipids establishes a comprehensive structure–activity relationship framework for mRNA delivery. Combined lipidtail and formulation optimization identifies TM1‐OPT3‐C, a lipid nanoparticle platform that improves efficacy–safety balance through efficient mRNA delivery,

This study integrates random matrix theory (RMT) and principal component analysis (PCA) to improve the identification of correlated regions in HIV protein sequences for vaccine design. PCA validation enhances the reliability of RMT‐derived correlations, particularly in small‐sample, high‐dimensional datasets, enabling more accurate detection of ...

Personality in Capuchin Monkeys (Sapajus apella): Comparison of Assessment Methods and Constructs
Using behavioral observations, novelty tests, and questionnaire ratings, we found limited cross‐method agreement and weak temporal stability in capuchin personality. Housing conditions significantly influenced personality expression, highlighting the context‐sensitive and multidimensional nature of primate personality.
