Of Monsters and Monkeys: Queering the Study of Genetic Chimerism in Primates
ABSTRACT Scientific research is a political enterprise, and is therefore susceptible to cultural biases. With its central role in understanding humans as a species, primatology is particularly vulnerable to this dynamic, requiring researchers to carefully assess both the influences shaping their work and the implications of their results.

Association of Clonal Hematopoiesis With Incident, Late‐Onset, Seropositive Rheumatoid Arthritis
Objective Clonal hematopoiesis (CH), defined by acquired driver mutations in hematopoietic stem cells, is associated with many inflammatory diseases of aging. We investigated whether CH and its subtypes, CH of indeterminate potential (CHIP) and mosaic chromosomal alteration (mCA), are associated with incident rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and whether ...

ER Stress Regulates HIV Tat and Alcohol‐Induced NLRP6 Activation in Astrocytes
HIV Tat and ethanol synergistically induce ER stress in astrocytes, activating an ER stress‐NLRP6 inflammasome axis that drives caspase‐1 activation and IL‐1β/IL‐18 release. Targeting ER stress or NLRP6 effectively suppresses astrocytic neuroinflammation, identifying a novel therapeutic pathway for alcohol‐exacerbated NeuroHIV.

ABSTRACT Individuals with fetal alcohol spectrum disorders exhibit impaired auditory processing and atypical auditory behaviors across the disorder's spectrum. Although low to moderate prenatal alcohol exposure (PAE) is a prevalent type of exposure, the developmental trajectory of auditory processing deficits resulting from this level of exposure ...

We modelled multi‐scale habitat use for chimpanzee feeding/travelling, nesting, and human hunting in the Seringbara region of Mount Nimba (Guinea) using GPS data with GLMs and boosted regression trees. Chimpanzee activity concentrated above 750 m on steeper slopes with high EVI, hunting was less prevalent in dense tree cover, both avoided research ...
