A 2-DOF-IMC method for suppressing transmission chain vibration of wind power generation system with a clearance

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2022
To address the vibration problem caused by gear clearance in the wind drivetrain, a two-degree-of-freedom internal model control (2-DOF-IMC) method was proposed to suppress the clearance’s nonlinear vibration.

Nonlinear vibration isolator with adjustable restoring force [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Sound and Vibration, 2013
Abstract This paper presents a vertical quasi-zero stiffness (QZS) vibration isolator with a mechanism for adjusting restoring force. QZS vibration isolators have high initial stiffness and QZS around the static equilibrium position. This way, excessive deformation due to self-weight can be avoided while having enough vibration reduction capability ...

Nonlinear error correction, asymmetric adjusment and cointegration [PDF]

open access: yes, 1991
This paper has three main components. First, it outlines a model of nonlinear error correction (NEC) in which the linear error correction term a'Xt (the vector time series Xt is cointegrated, a is the cointegrating vector) is replaced by the nonlinear ...

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Nonlinear Midlatitude Ocean Adjustment

open access: yesJournal of Physical Oceanography, 2003
Abstract Ocean adjustment on annual to interdecadal scales to variable forcing is considered for a more nonlinear general circulation than has previously been studied. The nature of the response is a strong function of forcing frequency and importantly involves the inertial recirculations rather than linear baroclinic waves.

Nonlinear Atmospheric Adjustment to Momentum Forcing

open access: yesJournal of the Atmospheric Sciences, 2008
Abstract A nonlinear, numerical model of a dry, compressible atmosphere is used to simulate the hydrostatic and geostrophic adjustment to a localized prescribed injection of momentum applied over 5 min. with a size characteristic of an isolated, deep, cumulus cloud.

LINC01116, a hypoxia‐lncRNA marker of pathological lymphangiogenesis and poor prognosis in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The LINC01116 long noncoding RNA is induced by hypoxia and associated with poor prognosis and high recurrence rates in two cohorts of lung adenocarcinoma patients. Here, we demonstrate that besides its expression in cancer cells, LINC01116 is markedly expressed in lymphatic endothelial cells of the tumor stroma in which it participates in hypoxia ...

Global Distribution Adjustment and Nonlinear Feature Transformation for Automatic Colorization

open access: yesAdvances in Multimedia, 2018
Automatic colorization is generally classified into two groups: propagation-based methods and reference-based methods. In reference-based automatic colorization methods, color image(s) are used as reference(s) to reconstruct original color of a gray ...

Time-Dependent Fully Nonlinear Geostrophic Adjustment

open access: yesJournal of Physical Oceanography, 1997
Shock-capturing numerical methods are employed to integrate the fully nonlinear, rotating 1D shallow-water equations starting from steplike nongeostrophic initial conditions (a Rossby adjustment problem). Such numerical methods allow one to observe the formation of multiple bores during the transient adjustment process as well as their decay due to ...

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.
