APPROXIMATE SOLUTIONS OF NONLINEAR OSCILLATORS

open access: yesNWSA Academic Journals, 2017
The modified homotopy perturbation method (MHPM) is used for solving the differential equation of pendulum model. Comparisons are made between the standard HPM and the MHPM. The results show that this method is effective and can obtain high accuracy solutions by only one iteration.

Diffusion Tractography Biomarker for Epilepsy Severity in Children With Drug‐Resistant Epilepsy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To develop a novel deep‐learning model of clinical DWI tractography that can accurately predict the general assessment of epilepsy severity (GASE) in pediatric drug‐resistant epilepsy (DRE) and test if it can screen diverse neurocognitive impairments identified through neuropsychological assessments.

A Nonlinear Splitting Algorithm for Systems of Partial Differential Equations with self-Diffusion [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Systems of reaction-diffusion equations are commonly used in biological models of food chains. The populations and their complicated interactions present numerous challenges in theory and in numerical approximation.

Demkov-Kunike model for cold atom association: weak interaction regime

open access: yes, 2009
We study the nonlinear mean-field dynamics of molecule formation at coherent photo- and magneto-association of an atomic Bose-Einstein condensate for the case when the external field configuration is defined by the quasi-linear level crossing Demkov ...

Portable Low‐Field Magnetic Resonance Imaging in People With Human Immunodeficiency Virus

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective The aging population of people with HIV (PWH) raises heightened concerns regarding accelerated aging and dementia. Portable, low‐field MRI (LF‐MRI) is an innovative technology that could enhance access and facilitate routine monitoring of PWH.

Higher-order corrections to the short-pulse equation

open access: yes, 2012
Using renormalization group techniques, we derive an extended short- pulse equation as approximation to a nonlinear wave equation. We investigate the new equation numerically and show that the new equation captures efficiently higher- order effects on ...

Approximate solution to a generalized Van der Pol equation arising in plasma oscillations

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2022
Motivated by some published theoretical investigations and based on the two-fluid model, nonlinear plasma oscillations are analyzed and discussed in the framework of the generalized Van der Pol equation.

The McCance Brain Care Score and Mortality: Evidence From a Large‐Scale Population‐Based Cohort

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives This study aimed to examine the relationship between the McCance Brain Care Score (BCS) and mortality in the general population. Methods We conducted a prospective, population‐based cohort study using data from the UK Biobank. Participants with complete data enabling calculation of BCS and full mortality information were included ...

Reduced Muscular Carnosine in Proximal Myotonic Myopathy—A Pilot 1H‐MRS Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Myotonic dystrophy type 2 (proximal myotonic myopathy, PROMM) is a progressive multisystem disorder with muscular symptoms (proximal weakness, pain, myotonia) and systemic manifestations such as diabetes mellitus, cataracts, and cardiac arrhythmias.
