Reaction-diffusion waves with nonlinear boundary conditions

open access: yesNetworks & Heterogeneous Media, 2013
A reaction-di usion equation with nonlinear boundary condition is considered in a two-dimensional in nite strip. Existence of waves in the bistable case is proved by the Leray-Schauder method.

Uniform Amorphization of Crystalline Silicon Surfaces Enabled by Deep Ultraviolet Femtosecond Laser Pulses

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Deep‐UV (258 nm) femtosecond pulses enable uniform amorphous silicon writing on Si(100)/(111) with a six‐fold larger fluence amorphization window than NIR methods. Optimized fluence and overlap yield 20–45 nm uniform and continuous amorphous layers. Microscopy shows sharp interfaces, and real‐time reflectivity reveals nanosecond melt–resolidification ...

Open boundary conditions for nonlinear initial boundary value problems

open access: yesJournal of Computational Physics
We present a straightforward energy stable weak implementation procedure of open boundary conditions for nonlinear initial boundary value problems. It simplifies previous work and its practical implementation.

Architecture‐Driven Sensor Stability in Weft‐Knitted Engineering Textiles

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Textile‐integrated sensor architectures are systematically compared to evaluate their electromechanical behavior under combined mechanical and environmental loading. Pocket‐based integration exhibits stable and reproducible signals, whereas tunnel‐based routing shows higher sensitivity accompanied by increased variability.

A mixed problem for semilinear wave equations with acoustic boundary conditions in domains with non-locally reacting boundary

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2014
In this article we study the existence, uniqueness and asymptotic stability of solution to the mixed problem for the semilinear wave equation with acoustic boundary conditions in domains with non-locally reacting boundary.

Attractors for Parabolic Problems with Nonlinear Boundary Conditions

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 1997
The authors investigate the long time behaviour of solutions of reaction diffusion systems of the following structure: \[ u_t-\text{div}(a(x)\nabla u)+ \sum B_j(x)\partial_ju+ \lambda u+ f(u)=0\text{ in }\Omega,\quad {\partial u\over\partial n_a}+ g(u)=0\text{ on }\partial\Omega.\tag{1} \] Here \(u=(u_1,\dots,u_m)\), \(m\geq 1\), \(a(x)=\text{diag}(a_1(

Non‐Additive Criteria Assessment in Sustainability Evaluation of High Entropy Alloys: A Toxicity‐Weighted Framework

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Sustainability assessment requires methodologies that appropriately distinguish between additive and non‐additive material properties. A toxicity‐weighted scoring system is developed and applied that accounts for the disproportionate influence of highly toxic constituents through nonlinear weighting functions, providing more realistic estimates than ...
