Analysis on Nonlinear Flowing Consolidation of Clay

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Research, 2010
It exist non-linear flow in soft clay, which is caused by the shear flow situation of bounded-water. In this case, permeability coefficient is a nonlinear function of hydraulic gradient. With the discharge of pore water, the effective stress is increasing, and part of weakly bound-water begins flow, while the porosity and permeability are became lower.

Nonlinear Consolidation Analysis of Soil-Cement Pile

open access: yesApplied Mechanics and Materials, 2011
A few consolidation solutions of soil-cement pile have been derived by the assumption that the coefficient of volume compressibility and coefficient of permeability of soil and pile is constant. However, the value of coefficient of volume compressibility and coefficient of permeability of soil and pile varies along depth during the consolidation ...

Nonlinear coupled consolidation problem with large strains

PAMM, 2021
AbstractThe consolidation problems involve the study of soil compaction under load with the possibility of liquid outflow [1]. A completely physically and geometrically nonlinear formulation of the consolidation problem is given using the Lagrange approach with adaptation for the solid phase and the Euler approach for the fluid under the assumption of ...

On nonlinear Biot's consolidation models

Nonlinear Analysis: Theory, Methods & Applications, 2005
The propagation of elastic waves in a fluid-saturated porous solid is generally set within the framework of Biot’s mechanics. Its modelling is motivated by many applications such as the study of poroelastic behavior of rocks for engineering reservoir models [4] or the detection of buried objects [18].

Geometrically and physically nonlinear coupled consolidation problem

PAMM, 2021
AbstractConsolidation is the process of soil compaction under load as water is squeezed out of a porous medium [1]. A physically and geometrically nonlinear formulation of the consolidation problem is developed. The developed nonlinear consolidation model is applied to simulate hyperelastic deformation of a biological material saturated with blood or ...

Computer Aided Analysis of Nonlinear Consolidation

13th Computers in Engineering Conference, 1993
Abstract Consolidation is one of the major problems in clayey foundation settlements. This paper presents a user-friendly software developed by the authors, based on finite element (FE) method including the concept of infinite elements.

Small-Strain Nonlinearity of Normally Consolidated Clay

Journal of Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Engineering, 2007
This paper addresses the small-strain undrained shear behavior of clays based on an extensive testing program conducted on normally consolidated resedimented Boston blue clay (RBBC). The uniformity and reproducibility in the behavior of this soil permit a detailed study of the role of consolidation stress level, preshear consolidation stress path ...

Implicit-explicit schemes for nonlinear consolidation

Computer Methods in Applied Mechanics and Engineering, 1983
Abstract A general analytical procedure capable of performing linear and nonlinear consolidation analysis of saturated porous media is proposed. A brief review of the coupled field equations is included and the constitutive assumptions are stated explicitly.
