Global Controllability of Nonlinear Systems

SIAM Journal on Control, 1972
This article deals with the controllability of nonlinear differential systems which arise when a linear system is perturbed. The sufficiency conditions presented insure that the nonlinear system will be (globally) controllable whenever its linear part is controllable. Moreover, the steering can be accomplished using continuous controls with arbitrarily

Nonlinear learning control for a class of nonlinear systems

Automatica, 2001
A nonlinear learning control scheme for asymptotic stabilization of a class of cascaded nonlinear systems is proposed. The direct Lyapunov method is one of the essential steps in the method. An illustrative example is provided.

Nonlinear damping control for interconnected nonlinear systems

2015 54th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control (CDC), 2015
In this paper, we propose enhanced nonlinear damping control for a class of singularly perturbed interconnected nonlinear systems (SPINSs). The proposed method transforms SPINS into a feedback connection of two subsystems. Then, nonlinear damping is implemented to improve the transient behavior of slow subsystem.

Controllability of Nonlinear Sequential Networks

Journal of the ACM, 1970
A sequential network is said to be controllable if there exists at least one integer k such that it is possible to transition between any pair of arbitrary states ( S α , S β ) in exactly k steps. In this paper, necessary

Nonlinear controllers for nonlinear passive systems with arbitrary input nonlinearities

Proceedings of the 2000 American Control Conference. ACC (IEEE Cat. No.00CH36334), 2000
A nonlinear dynamic compensator framework for nonlinear passive systems with arbitrary input nonlinearities is proposed. For this class of systems we prove global closed-loop stability by modifying the dynamic compensator to include a suitable input nonlinearity.

Controllability of nonlinear control systems

1986 25th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, 1986
Controllability properties of analytic affine control systems ? with an arbitrary number of controls and no a priori bounds are studied, without any restriction on the dimension of the Lie algebra T' generated by the input vector fields. Sufficient conditions for local controllability at a point are presented, involving the Lie brackets at that point ...

Nonlinear control and controller tuning

Proceedings of the 35th SICE Annual Conference. International Session Papers, 2005
The objectives of the paper are to discuss aspects of controller design, or more specifically controller tuning, for a SISO plant which may be nonlinear. The paper therefore first considers nonlinear effects and some approaches to the analysis of nonlinear systems. The autotuning approach for PH) controller tuning is then discussed first for linear and
