Light beams distortion in nonlinear electrodynamics [PDF]
We obtain the characteristic equation for the nonlinear Born-Infeld electrodynamics. This equation has the form of the characteristic equation for the linear electrodynamics in some effective Riemann space. The effective metric include the energy-momentum tensor components of electromagnetic field.

Stabilization of L‐PBF Ni50.7Ti49.3 under low‐cycle loading was investigated. Recoverable strain after cycling was dependent on the amount of applied load. Recovery ratio was 53.4% and 35.1% at intermediate and high load, respectively. The maximum total strain reached 10.3% at a high load of 1200 MPa.

Power Amplifier Predistortion Using Reduced Sampling Rates in the Forward and Feedback Paths
The feasibility of implementing digital predistortion for next-generation wireless communication is faced with a dilemma due to the ever-increasing demand for faster data rates. This causes the utilized bandwidth to increase significantly, as seen in the

The lineshape in an auto-oscillator with a large nonlinear frequency shift in the presence of thermal noise is calculated. Near the generation threshold, this lineshape becomes strongly non-Lorentzian, broadened, and asymmetric. A Lorentzian lineshape is

A numerical–experimental framework is developed for characterizing multi‐matrix fiber‐reinforced polymers (MM‐FRPs) combining epoxy and polyurethane matrices. Harmonic bending tests are integrated with finite element model updating (FEMU) to simultaneously identify elastic and viscoelastic material parameters.

Dimensional crossover in a layered ferromagnet detected by spin correlation driven distortions
Exploring lattice distortions from magnetic short-range ordering (SRO) facilitates the understanding of magnetic long-range ordering (LRO). Here the authors apply high-multipole nonlinear optical polarimetry to track SRO induced distortions in CrSiTe3 ...

Numerical study of spatiotemporal distortions in noncollinear optical parametric chirped-pulse amplifiers [PDF]
During amplification in a noncollinear optical parametric amplifier the spatial and temporal coordinates of the amplified field are inherently coupled. These couplings or distortions can limit the peak intensity, among other things.

Effect of Oxygen Content on Surface and Subsurface Integrity During Turning of Ti–6Al–4V
This study examines how oxygen content in the ambient atmosphere affects the surface and subsurface properties of Ti–6Al–4V during turning. Results show that oxygen does not influence surface roughness. However, machining in an extremely high vacuum‐adequate atmosphere increases surface hardness by up to 7.8% and induces compressive residual stresses ...
