Multi-Peak and Propagation Behavior of M-Shape Solitons in (2 + 1)-Dimensional Integrable Schwarz-Korteweg-de Vries Problem

open access: yesFractal and Fractional, 2023
This paper examines the propagation of M-shape solitons and their interactions with kink waves to the (2 + 1)-dimensional integrable Schwarz-Korteweg-de Vries (ISKdV) problem by applying the symbolic computation with ansatz functions technique and ...

Bubble Dynamics in N Dimensions

open access: yes, 2012
Cavitation and bubble dynamics are central concepts in engineering, the natural sciences, and the mathematics of fluid mechanics. Due to the nonlinear nature of their dynamics, the governing equations are not fully solvable.

Tuning of dynamic feedback control for nonlinear mechanical systems [PDF]

open access: yes2013 European Control Conference (ECC), 2013
Mechanical systems are often only equipped with position measurement encoders and obtain the velocity signal by differentiation. However, differentiation largely amplifies noise. In this paper we look at dynamic feedback control of Euler-Lagrange mechanical systems.

The statistical properties of protein folding in the {\phi}^4 theory

open access: yes, 2012
The statistical properties of protein folding within the {\phi}^4 model are investigated. The calculation is performed using statistical mechanics and path integral method. In particular, the evolution of heat capacity in term of temperature is given for

Innovative method to measure the extent of the stable phase-space region of proton synchrotrons

open access: yesPhysical Review Accelerators and Beams, 2019
The advent of circular accelerators based on superconducting magnets has revolutionized the field of beam dynamics, with particle motion turning from linear to nonlinear due to unavoidable high-order field errors generated by the ring magnets.

Long‐Term Follow‐Up of Chemotherapy‐Associated Biological Aging in Women With Early Breast Cancer

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Women threated with adjuvant chemotherapy for early breast cancer have sustained long‐term increase in p16INK4a,, a robust marker of cell senescence, suggesting a chemotherapy‐associated age acceleration. p16INK4a as well as other biomarkers may identify patients at greatest risk for senescence‐related diseases of aging.

Four questions for quantum-classical hybrid theory

open access: yes, 2012
Four questions are discussed which may be addressed to any proposal of a quantum-classical hybrid theory which concerns the direct coupling of classical and quantum mechanical degrees of freedom.
