Nonlinear Effects — The Multielectron Dimple [PDF]
In the field of 2-dimensional electron systems the surface of liquid helium has proven as a nearly ideal substrate for surface state electrons (SSE)1. In the previous chapters this surface could be considered to a good approximation as being completely inert and smooth, except for surface excitations (ripplons), which act as the dominating source for ...

A fully transparent, all‐metal‐oxide neuromorphic transistor using a sodium‐embedded alumina (SEA) electrolyte is demonstrated. By precisely tuning the thermal annealing process, the chemical composition of the SEA layer is controlled, allowing for the deterministic realization of both short‐term and long‐term synaptic plasticity within the same device

Flexible piezoresistive pressure sensors underpin wearable and soft electronics. This review links sensing physics, including contact resistance modulation, quantum tunneling and percolation, to unified materials/structure design. We highlight composite and graded architectures, interfacial/porous engineering, and microstructured 3D conductive networks

Hydrogen‐Bond–Driven Ion Retention in Electrolyte‐Gated Synaptic Transistors
Anion molecular design governs ion–polymer interactions in electrolyte‐gated synaptic transistors. Asymmetric anions induce hydrogen‐bond interactions that suppress ion back‐diffusion and stabilize doping, enabling enhanced nonvolatile synaptic properties.

Wafer‐scale two‐dimensioanl In2Se3 oxidized into InOx on sodium‐embedded beta‐alumina enables multifunctional reconfigurable electronics. Sodium ions accumulate within distinct spatial distribution under drain‐controlle and gate‐controlled operation. Drain‐control operation gives controllability of ultraviolet‐driven optoelectronic synaptic conductance

NONLINEAR PLASMONICS WITH APPLICATIONS TO SENSING
Recent progress in laser science has led to the development of ultrashort pulses, which have a broad spectral bandwidth and high peak intensities. When these pulses interact with nonlinear plasmonic materials, the combination of high peak powers and ...

Machine Learning‐Assisted Inverse Design of Soft and Multifunctional Hybrid Liquid Metal Composites
A machine learning framework is presented for inverse design of synthesizable multifunctional composites containing both liquid metal and solid inclusions. By integrating physics‐based modeling, data‐driven prediction, and Bayesian optimization, the approach enables intelligent design of experiments to identify optimal compositions and realize these ...
