Longitudinal circulating tumor DNA profiling in patients with advanced endometrial cancer using an off‐the‐shelf targeted NGS panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumour heterogeneity complicates precision management of advanced endometrial cancer. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a minimally invasive strategy to capture tumor evolution and therapeutic resistance. Here, we compare tumor‐agnostic NGS with tumor‐informed ddPCR, outlining their relative sensitivity, concordance, and clinical implications ...

Random and quasi-coherent aspects in particle motion and their effects on transport and turbulence evolution

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2017
The quasi-coherent effects in two-dimensional incompressible turbulence are analyzed starting from the test particle trajectories. They can acquire coherent aspects when the stochastic potential has slow time variation and the motion is not strongly ...

Compact Optical Switches and Modulators Based on Dispersion Engineered Photonic Crystals

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2010
We use slow-light photonic crystals to enhance optical switching and modulation in silicon. By using dispersion-engineered designs, a switch as short as 5 ¿m was achieved, in which we have demonstrated rerouting of optical pulses on a 3-ps time scale ...

Proteasome inhibitor, ixazomib prevents topoisomerase‐I degradation and reverses irinotecan resistance in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Ixazomib inhibits proteasome‐mediated degradation of topoisomerase I induced by irinotecan, thereby restoring drug sensitivity and promoting tumor cell death in colorectal cancer. Irinotecan, a topoisomerase I (topoI) inhibitor, is widely used for colorectal cancer, but resistance remains a major clinical challenge.

Characterization of nonlinear switching in a figure-of-eight fiber laser using frequency-resolved optical gating [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
The measurement technique of frequency-resolved optical gating is applied to determine the nonlinear switching characteristics of a passively modelocked figure-of-eight erbium-doped fiber laser. By completely characterizing the intensity and phase of the

Nonlinear Optical Effects [PDF]

open access: yes, 1971
Third-harmonic generation in cholesteric liquid crystals, far-infrared generation by ultrashort pulses, and self-focusing of light in nonlinear media are taken as examples for illustration of nonlinear optical effects. Depending on the problems, different approximations are used in solving the nonlinear wave equations.

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Effective Computation for Nonlinear Systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Nonlinear dynamical and control systems are an important source of applications for theories of computation over the the real numbers, since these systems are usually to complicated to study analytically, but may be extremely sensitive to numerical error.

C2α‐carbanion‐protonating glutamate discloses tradeoffs between substrate accommodation and reaction rate in actinobacterial 2‐hydroxyacyl‐CoA lyase

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Enzymes of the 2‐hydroxyacyl‐CoA lyase group catalyze the condensation of formyl‐CoA with aldehydes or ketones. Thus, by structural adaptation of active sites, practically any pharmaceutically and industrially important 2‐hydroxyacid could be biotechnologically synthesized. Combining crystal structure analysis, active site mutations and kinetic assays,
