Effects of a Dynamic Vibration Absorber on Nonlinear Hinged-Free Beam

open access: yes, 2016
This study examined the vibrations of a hinged-free nonlinear beam placed on a nonlinear elastic foundation. The authors found that specific combinations of an elastic modulus in the elastic foundation resulted in 1:3 internal resonances in the first and

Fostering Innovation: Streamlining Magnetocaloric Materials Research by Digitalization

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetocaloric cooling (MCE) is an environmentally friendly refrigeration method with great potential. Optimizing MCE materials involves the preparation and screening of large quantities of samples, which in turn generates a large amount of data. A digitalization approach is presented that uses ontologies, knowledge graphs, and digital workflows to ...

Free nonlinear vibration of the cable with external damper

open access: yesВестник гражданских инженеров, 2020
The numerical analysis for cable nonlinear vibration with external viscous damper based on explicit integration equation of motion is proposed. The algorithm allows taking into account both the geometry non-linearity of the cable and the non-linearity associated with the damper.

Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

Nonlinear vibration of nonlocal strain gradient nanotubes under longitudinal magnetic field

open access: yesVietnam Journal of Mechanics, 2021
The nonlinear free vibration of embedded nanotubes under longitudinal magnetic field is studied in this paper. The governing equation for the nanotube is formulated by employing Euler – Bernoulli beam model and the nonlocal strain gradient theory.

A Practical Noise2Noise Denoising Pipeline for High‐Throughput Raman Spectroscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A lightweight and reproducible denoising pipeline for high‐throughput Raman spectroscopy is introduced, based on a 1D convolutional autoencoder trained with a Noise2Noise strategy. Using only repeated short‐exposure acquisitions, the method suppresses stochastic noise without reference spectra, enabling reliable spectral reconstruction while preserving

Coupling between flexural modes in free vibration of single-walled carbon nanotubes

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2015
The nonlinear thermal vibration behavior of a single-walled carbon nanotube (SWCNT) is investigated by molecular dynamics simulation and a nonlinear, nonplanar beam model. Whirling motion with energy transfer between flexural motions is found in the free
