Robust load frequency control of nonlinear power networks [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Control, 2018
This paper proposes a decentralised second-order sliding mode (SOSM) control strategy for load frequency control (LFC) in power networks, regulating the frequency and maintaining the net inter-area power flows at their scheduled values. The considered power network is partitioned into control areas, where each area is modelled by an equivalent ...

Pharmacological inhibition of the PERK pathway modulates hepatocellular carcinoma growth and immune signaling

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Pharmacological inhibition of PERK in a DEN‐induced mouse model of liver cancer does not reduce tumor burden but alters cellular stress signaling. Despite blocking PERK activity, downstream stress responses, including CHOP expression, remain active, suggesting compensatory mechanisms within the unfolded protein response that may influence tumor ...

Impact of Nonlinear and Unbalanced Loads on Neutral Conductors in Three-Phase Systems: Modelling and Simulation Analysis [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Electrical and Electronic Engineering
The rise of nonlinear and unbalanced loads in modern electrical systems poses challenges to power quality management. These loads, prevalent in electronic devices and industrial equipment, induce harmonic distortions and unbalance, adversely affecting ...

A harmonic suppression strategy based on harmonic impedance reshaping of grid-forming converters

open access: yesZhejiang dianli
With the large-scale integration of nonlinear loads and power electronic equipment into power systems, voltage distortion at the point of common coupling (PCC) has become increasingly prominent, severely affecting power quality and the safe and stable ...

Nonlinear and Randomized Pricing for Distributed Management of Flexible Loads [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Smart Grid, 2016
Price-based management of distributed energy resources within microgrids is continuously gaining ground due to scalability and privacy limitations of centralized architectures. However, the concentration of flexible loads’ response to the lowest-priced periods yields inefficient solutions.

Gust Loading Factors with Nonlinear Pressure Terms [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Structural Division, 1978
The purpose of this paper is to develop an analytical expression for the gust loading factor of buildings in which the nonlinear pressure terms are taken into account. The main steps leading to such an expression are presented and numerical examples are given showing the influence of the nonlinear terms on the magnitude of the random response.

Long‐Term Follow‐Up of Chemotherapy‐Associated Biological Aging in Women With Early Breast Cancer

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Women threated with adjuvant chemotherapy for early breast cancer have sustained long‐term increase in p16INK4a,, a robust marker of cell senescence, suggesting a chemotherapy‐associated age acceleration. p16INK4a as well as other biomarkers may identify patients at greatest risk for senescence‐related diseases of aging.
