Nonlinear Krönig-Penney model [PDF]
We study the nonlinear Schrödinger equation with a periodic delta-function potential. This realizes a nonlinear Krönig-Penney model, with physical applications in the context of trapped Bose-Einstein condensate alkaly gases and in the transmission of signals in optical fibers. We find analytical solutions of zero-current Bloch states.

A New Three-Step Root-Finding Numerical Method and Its Fractal Global Behavior
There is an increasing demand for numerical methods to obtain accurate approximate solutions for nonlinear models based upon polynomials and transcendental equations under both single and multivariate variables. Keeping in mind the high demand within the

Modeling of the height-diameter relationship in eucalyptus in integrated crop-livestock systems
The objective of this work was to compare the height-diameter relationship, described by nonlinear biological models, in Eucalyptus benthamii in monoculture forestry and in three different integrated crop-livestock systems (ICLS): crop-forestry ...

Our objective was to evaluate whether the single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) BIEC2-808543, identified in some horse breeds, also occurs in the Brasileiro de Hipismo (BH) breed. In addition, we verified if this SNP is related to the growth curve profile

Nonlinear level crossing models [PDF]
We examine the effect of nonlinearity at a level crossing on the probability for nonadiabatic transitions $P$. By using the Dykhne-Davis-Pechukas formula, we derive simple analytic estimates for $P$ for two types of nonlinear crossings. In the first type,
