We study the symmetry reduction of nonlinear partial differential equations with two independent variables. We propose new ansätze reducing nonlinear evolution equations to system of ordinary differential equations.

Nonlinear Boundary Value Problems for Ordinary Differential Equations
A nonlinear vector boundary value problem of the form (1) \(y'= f(x,y)\), (2) \(B(y)= r\) is considered. Results are presented in which it is shown that solutions \(u(x)\) of (1), (2) can be differentiated with respect to the components of \(r\). These partial derivatives are then shown to be solutions of certain linear boundary value problems.

Solving nonlinear boundary value problems by the Galerkin method with sinc functions
In this paper, the sinc-Galerkin method is used for numerically solving a class of nonlinear differential equations with boundary conditions. The importance of this study is that sinc approximation of the nonlinear term is stated as a new theorem.
