Sustainability assessment requires methodologies that appropriately distinguish between additive and non‐additive material properties. A toxicity‐weighted scoring system is developed and applied that accounts for the disproportionate influence of highly toxic constituents through nonlinear weighting functions, providing more realistic estimates than ...

Binder‐free laser powder bed fusion of 8YSZ with a femtosecond laser is used to map process windows linking scan strategy, heat accumulation, and grain growth. Time‐resolved thermography and simulations reveal thermal regimes that enable continuous, vitrified, and fine‐grained 8YSZ surface layers without absorptive additives and demonstrate ...

Existence, multiplicity, and bifurcation in systems of ordinary differential equations
We prove new non-resonance conditions for boundary value problems for two dimensional systems of ordinary differential equations. We apply these results to the existence of solutions to nonlinear problems.

The article states the sufficient polystability conditions for part of variables for nonlinear systems of ordinary differential equations with a sufficiently smooth right-hand side. The obtained theorem proof is based on the establishment of a local componentwise Brauer asymptotic equivalence. An operator in the Banach space that connects the solutions

Elastic–Plastic Modeling and Experimental Characterization of Granular Jamming Actuators
Granular jamming enables rapid switching between soft and rigid mechanical states. Here, a reduced‐order elastic‐perfectly‐plastic beam framework captures pressure‐dependent loading, unloading, residual deformation, and hysteresis in jammed beams, while matching three‐point bending experiments across materials and geometries. The framework links design

A collocation method for systems of nonlinear ordinary differential equations
AbstractA collocation method based on piecewise polynomials is applied to boundary value problems for mth order systems of nonlinear ordinary differential equations. Optimal a priori estimates are obtained for the error of approximation in the maximum norm and superconvergence is verified at particular points.

More than 10 000 metal‐coated silicon MEMS cantilevers are fabricated and characterized to build a large‐scale experimental dataset spanning multiple vibrational modes. Machine learning algorithms are benchmarked to predict resonance frequency and quality factor, with ensemble based models achieving accuracy approaching experimental uncertainty.

On convergence of waveform relaxation for nonlinear systems of ordinary differential equations
To integrate large systems of nonlinear differential equations in time, we consider a variant of nonlinear waveform relaxation (also known as dynamic iteration or Picard-Lindelöf iteration), where at each iteration a linear inhomogeneous system of differential equations has to be solved.

Nonlinear Sturm-Liouville problems for systems of ordinary differential equations [PDF]
The author uses coincidence degree ideas to establish the existence (and sometimes uniqueness) for two point boundary value problems for certain systems of ordinary differential equations.
