Nonlinear stability of the one-domain approach to modelling convection in superposed fluid and porous layers

open access: yes, 2010
Studies of the nonlinear stability of fluid/porous systems have been developed very recently. A two-domain modelling approach has been adopted in previous works, but was restricted to specific configurations.

Mixed Time-Delayed Nonlinear Multi-agent Dynamic Systems for Asymptotic Stability and Non-fragile Synchronization Criteria

open access: yes, 2021
In this manuscript, we are concerned with mixed (discrete and distributed) time-delayed both stability and non-fragile synchronization of nonlinear multi-agent systems (MASs).

Carboxylic‐Acid Functionalized Multiwalled Carbon Nanotube‐Alkane‐Based Resistive Temperature Sensor for Cold Chain Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a reversible temperature sensor with high switching ratio, ∼103. The device is fabricated using PET‐ITO and carbon nanotube dispersions in alkane. Considering its application in cold chain logistics, a proof‐of‐concept with LED is showcased. Thus, a temperature drop below the threshold temperature (crystallization temperature of the

Stability analysis for nonlinear closed loop system structure

open access: yesSystems Science & Control Engineering, 2020
In this paper, stability analysis is studied for the nonlinear closed loop system with a nonlinear plant and a nonlinear controller. Without the linearizing process for the nonlinear plant and the nonlinear controller, a Lipschitz continuous assumption ...

Practical Ulam-Hyers-Rassias stability for nonlinear equations [PDF]

open access: yesMathematica Bohemica, 2017
In this paper, we offer a new stability concept, practical Ulam-Hyers-Rassias stability, for nonlinear equations in Banach spaces, which consists in a restriction of Ulam-Hyers-Rassias stability to bounded subsets.

Planar Solid‐State Nanopores Toward Scalable Nanofluidic Integration Based on CMOS Technology

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
We present a scalable silicon‐based fabrication strategy for planar solid‐state nanopores to enable their integration with complex nanofluidic systems. Prototype devices demonstrate normal voltage‐current characteristics, good noise performance, and appreciable streaming currents. Our CMOS‐compatible fabrication process offers precise geometric control

On convexity in stabilization of nonlinear systems [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the 39th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control (Cat. No.00CH37187), 2002
A stability criterion for nonlinear systems, derived by the first author (2000), can be viewed as a dual to Lyapunov's second theorem. The criterion is stated in terms of a function which can be interpreted as the stationary density of a substance that is generated all over the state space and flows along the system trajectories towards the equilibrium.

Pyramidal Structures on Yttria‐Stabilized Zirconia after High Temperature Exposure at 1500°C: New Features on an Old Material

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
New features on yttria‐stabilized zirconia after exposure at 1500°C: Newly discovered pyramidal structures on an old material. After exposure at 1550°C on the cross section of YSZ new features, namely pyramidal structures are discovered. These structures grow with time, increase in numbers, appear as singularities, are often arranged in strings, and ...
