Overexpression of CHRDL2 in colon cancer cells makes them more stem‐like and resistant to chemo‐ and radiotherapy. CHRDL2‐high cells have upregulation of the WNT pathway, genes involved in the DNA damage response (DDR) pathway and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT). This leads to quicker repair of damaged DNA and more cell migration.

Finite-dimensional states and entanglement generation for a nonlinear coupler
We discuss a system comprising two nonlinear (Kerr-like) oscillators coupled mutually by a nonlinear interaction. The system is excited by an external coherent field that is resonant to the frequency of one of the oscillators.

Controllability distributions and systems approximations: a geometric approach [PDF]
Given a nonlinear system we determine a relation at an equilibrium between controllability distributions defined for a nonlinear system and a Taylor series approximation of it. The value of such a relation is appreciated if we recall that the solvability

Nonlinear Supratransmission in Multicomponent Systems [PDF]
A method is proposed to solve the challenging problem of determining the supratransmission threshold (onset of instability of harmonic boundary driving inside a band gap) in multicomponent nonintegrable nonlinear systems. It is successfully applied to the degenerate three-wave resonant interaction in a birefringent quadratic medium where the process ...

Human cytomegalovirus infection is common in normal prostate epithelium, prostate tumor tissue, and prostate cancer cell lines. CMV promotes cell survival, proliferation, and androgen receptor signaling. Anti‐CMV pharmaceutical compounds in clinical use inhibited cell expansion in prostate cancer models in vitro and in vivo, motivating investigation ...

Nonlinear normal modes, modal interactions and isolated resonance curves [PDF]
The objective of the present study is to explore the connection between the nonlinear normal modes of an undamped and unforced nonlinear system and the isolated resonance curves that may appear in the damped response of the forced system. To this end, an

Development of 4T1 breast cancer mouse model system for preclinical carbonic anhydrase IX studies
Carbonic anhydrase IX (CAIX) is a well‐recognised therapeutic target and prognostic biomarker in cancer. We developed and characterised a robust murine breast cancer model system that is suitable for CAIX studies in vitro and in vivo—it comprises both CAIX‐positive and CAIX‐negative controls and provides a solid platform for the comprehensive ...

Cleavable N‐terminal Thioredoxin fusion enabled soluble expression and purification of otherwise insoluble SARS‐CoV‐2 Nucleocapsid (N) protein. A four‐step purification strategy yielded highly homogeneous, RNA‐free N protein. Binding assays showed high RNA affinity (Kd ~ 28 nm). The study will facilitate high‐resolution structural studies of N protein,

Feedback Robust Cubature Kalman Filter for Target Tracking Using an Angle Sensor
The direction of arrival (DOA) tracking problem based on an angle sensor is an important topic in many fields. In this paper, a nonlinear filter named the feedback M-estimation based robust cubature Kalman filter (FMR-CKF) is proposed to deal with ...
