Mg–Zn composites with a thickness of 0.21 mm were fabricated using roll bonding of a kirigami‐patterned Mg alloy inlay within a Zn matrix. Thermal activation following this process led to the formation of tailored intermetallic structures, which provided the composite with enhanced flexural strength.

The nonlinear time history analysis of seismically base-isolated structures can require a significant computational effort when the behavior of each seismic isolator is predicted by adopting the widely used differential equation Bouc-Wen model. In this paper, a nonlinear exponential model, able to simulate the response of seismic isolation bearings ...

Parameter identification based on finite-time synchronization for Cohen–Grossberg neural networks with time-varying delays [PDF]
In this paper, the finite-time synchronization problem for chaotic Cohen–Grossberg neural networks with unknown parameters and time-varying delays is investigated by using finite-time stability theory.

A simplified thermoplastic pultrusion model is developed to predict thermal fields in glass fiber/polyethylene terephthalate (GF/PET) composites with reduced computational cost. By combining effective material homogenization, validation against literature data, and Gaussian‐process‐based optimization, the study reveals how heating limits, pulling speed,

Kink-excitation of N-system under spatio-temporal noise [PDF]
Random walk of the nonlinear localized excitations in a dissipative N-system, i.e., the influence of the irregular perturbations on the kink-shaped excitations in a system characterized by nonlinearities of "N-type", is analyzed.

Fostering Innovation: Streamlining Magnetocaloric Materials Research by Digitalization
Magnetocaloric cooling (MCE) is an environmentally friendly refrigeration method with great potential. Optimizing MCE materials involves the preparation and screening of large quantities of samples, which in turn generates a large amount of data. A digitalization approach is presented that uses ontologies, knowledge graphs, and digital workflows to ...
