The Structural design of tall and special buildings, 2020
Nonlinear time history analysis (NTHA) is widely considered to be the most accurate and robust method of seismic analysis and, when performed with force analogy method (FAM), can result in significant reduction in computational time, as compared to the ...

Structural Health Monitoring, 2020
Accurate finite element models play significant roles in the design, health monitoring and life-cycle maintenance of long-span bridges. However, due to uncertainties involved in finite element modelling, updating of the finite element model to best ...

Nonlinear inelastic time-history analysis of truss structures
Journal of Constructional Steel Research, 2011Abstract This paper presents the nonlinear inelastic time-history analysis of truss structures including both geometric and material nonlinearities. The geometric nonlinearity is considered based on an updated Lagrangian formulation, while the material nonlinearity is captured by tracing an empirical stress–strain relationship in the elastoplastic ...

NONLINEAR TIME HISTORY ANALYSIS OF A REINFORCED CONCRETE BRIDGE
2021Earthquakes are one of the greatest natural hazards, which are subject of human research. Bulgaria is a region with medium seismicity and possible seismic impact can lead to damage and destruction both in the building stock and in logistics facilities such as bridges, which would lead to large human and economic losses.

Masonry Italian Code-Conforming Buildings. Part 2: Nonlinear Modelling and Time-History Analysis
Journal of earthquake engineering, 2018The unreinforced masonry (URM) buildings designed to be conforming with the Italian building code, as illustrated in the companion paper, were analyzed by performing time-history analyses on models realized using an equivalent frame approach and by ...

Dual versus amplitude scaling in nonlinear time-history analysis.
2014In order to estimate the inelastic seismic response of structures modern design codes such as the ASCE7 or Eurocode 8 allow for the use of a family of scaled natural accelerograms in conjunction with nonlinear time-history analysis. In view of this, a number of selection and scaling criteria have been proposed over the years.
