Electronic transport coefficients from ab initio simulations and application to dense liquid hydrogen

open access: yes, 2012
Using Kubo's linear response theory, we derive expressions for the frequency-dependent electrical conductivity (Kubo-Greenwood formula), thermopower, and thermal conductivity in a strongly correlated electron system.

Mechanistic Insights Into Photocatalytic Materials for Toxic Pollutants: Environmental Remediation of Personal Care Products

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Photocatalytic materials have emerged as promising solutions for environmental applications due to their ability to degrade organic pollutants under sunlight or artificial light. In this review, recent progress on the photocatalytic materials used for the degradation of pharmaceutical personal care products (PPCPs) in environmental ...

Anion additives in rapid breakdown anodization for nonmetal-doped TiO2 nanotube powders

open access: yesElectrochemistry Communications, 2019
Nonmetal-doped TiO2 powders consisting of one-dimensional nanotube bundles are prepared using electrolytes containing different kinds of anion additives via a one-step rapid breakdown anodization (RBA) process in a short time.

Periodic and Statistically Distributed Surface Texturing of Surface‐Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS) Sensors with Spatially Selective Signal Mapping

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, EarlyView.
Molecular fingerprinting for the detection of biomolecules is highly sensitive and noninvasive through the surface‐enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) effect. This is a report on the commercially competitive performance of gold‐coated periodic structures and black Si (aperiodic) nanostructures as plasmonic SERS substrates.

Measurements of the Complex Conductivity of NbxSi1-x Alloys on the Insulating Side of the Metal-Insulator Transition

open access: yes, 2001
We have conducted temperature and frequency dependent transport measurements in amorphous Nb_x Si_{1-x} samples in the insulating regime. We find a temperature dependent dc conductivity consistent with variable range hopping in a Coulomb glass.
