Between the Sheets: CH3SO3H Molecules Intercalating B2O3 Layers

open access: yesZeitschrift für anorganische und allgemeine Chemie, EarlyView.
The intercalation compound B6O9·CH3SO3H can be seen as the stabilization of a new B2O3 modification by methanesulfonic acid. The structure elucidation was performed by X‐ray diffraction and solid‐state NMR measurements. The reaction of boric acid and methanesulfonic acid yielded single crystals of B6O9·CH3SO3H (monoclinic, I2/a, Z = 8, a = 873.19(3), b

An Archaeometallurgical Investigation on Some Archaeological Metal Finds From the Sasanian Site of Jahāngir, Western Iran

open access: yesArchaeometry, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Twelve metal artifacts from recent excavations at the Sasanian archaeological site of Jahāngir in western Iran have been analyzed. These items include both decorative and utilitarian artifacts. The samples were examined using micro‐X‐ray fluorescence (μ‐XRF), scanning electron microscopy with energy‐dispersive X‐ray spectroscopy (SEM‐EDS), and
