Quantum molecular dynamics simulations for the nonmetal-metal transition in shocked methane

open access: yes, 2011
We have performed quantum molecular-dynamics simulations for methane under shock compressions up to 80 GPa. We obtain good agreement with available experimental data for the principal Hugoniot, derived from the equation of state.

NiS - An unusual self-doped, nearly compensated antiferromagnetic metal [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
NiS, exhibiting a text-book example of a first-order transition with many unusual properties at low temperatures, has been variously described in terms of conflicting descriptions of its ground state during the past several decades.

Copper Contact for Perovskite Solar Cells: Properties, Interfaces, and Scalable Integration

open access: yesAdvanced Energy and Sustainability Research, EarlyView.
Copper electrodes, as low‐cost, scalable contacts for perovskite solar cells, offer several advantages over precious metals such as Au and Ag, including performance, cost, deposition methods, and interfacial engineering. Copper (Cu) electrodes are increasingly considered practical, sustainable alternatives to noble‐metal contacts in perovskite solar ...

Production and Characterization of Alkaline Protease from a High Yielding and Moderately Halophilic Strain of SD11 Marine Bacteria

open access: yesJournal of Chemistry, 2015
A marine bacterium SD11, which was isolated from sea muds (Geziwo Qinhuangdao Sea area, China), was used to produce thermostable alkaline serine nonmetal protease in the skim milk agar plate medium with 10% NaCl.

Electronic correlation effects and the Coulomb gap at finite temperature

open access: yes, 2000
We have investigated the effect of the long-range Coulomb interaction on the one-particle excitation spectrum of n-type Germanium, using tunneling spectroscopy on mechanically controllable break junctions.

The Effect of Deposition Rate on Morphology and Structural Properties of Carbon-Nickel Composite Films

open access: yesAdvances in Materials Science and Engineering, 2013
Carbon-nickel films were grown by radio frequency magnetron cosputtering on glass substrates. The films were deposited under different deposition times, from 50 to 600 sec, at room temperature.

The equation of state and nonmetal-metal transition of benzene under shock compression

open access: yes, 2009
We employ quantum molecular dynamic simulations to investigate the behavior of benzene under shock conditions. The principal Hugoniot derived from the equation of state is determined.
