Efficient Constrained Tensor Factorization by Alternating Optimization with Primal-Dual Splitting
Tensor factorization with hard and/or soft constraints has played an important role in signal processing and data analysis. However, existing algorithms for constrained tensor factorization have two drawbacks: (i) they require matrix-inversion; and (ii ...

Network Games With Triadic Interactions
ABSTRACT We propose a model for network‐mediated interactions incorporating higher‐order relationships such as triadic interactions. The marginal utility of an individual's action depends explicitly on endogenous actions of multiple units. Conditions ensuring a unique Nash equilibrium are derived using a variational inequality approach. We estimate the

Robust Inverse Material Design With Physical Guarantees Using the Voigt‐Reuss Net
ABSTRACT We apply the Voigt‐Reuss net, a spectrally normalized neural surrogate introduced in [38], for forward and inverse mechanical homogenization with a key guarantee that all predicted effective stiffness tensors satisfy Voigt‐Reuss bounds in the Löwner sense during training, inference, and gradient‐driven optimization.

Bayesian Conditional Tensor Factorizations for High-Dimensional Classification [PDF]
In many application areas, data are collected on a categorical response and high-dimensional categorical predictors, with the goals being to build a parsimonious model for classification while doing inferences on the important predictors.

Integrating Experimental Imaging and (Quantum‐Deformation)‐Curvature Dynamics in Bleb Morphogenesis
We propose a (q,τ)$$ \left(q,\tau \right) $$‐fractional geometric flow model for cell blebbing that incorporates hereditary memory and viscoelastic effects in curvature‐driven membrane dynamics. Image‐based measurements of bleb geometry are coupled with fractional evolution equations and validated numerically.

A multilevel approach for nonnegative matrix factorization [PDF]
Nonnegative Matrix Factorization (NMF) is the problem of approximating a nonnegative matrix with the product of two low-rank nonnegative matrices and has been shown to be particularly useful in many applications, e.g., in text mining, image processing ...

Recovering Multiple Nonnegative Time Series From a Few Temporal Aggregates
Motivated by electricity consumption metering, we extend existing nonnegative matrix factorization (NMF) algorithms to use linear measurements as observations, instead of matrix entries.
