In this note we review different approaches to non parametric regression. Kernel estimators are motivated from local averaging, solving ill-posed problems and weighting of binned data. Kernel estimators are compared to k-NN estimators and splines.

Decoding the Cardiac Immune Microenvironment and Fibroblast Crosstalk in Radiotherapy Combined with Immunotherapy‐Induced Cardiac Fibrosis Based on Single‐Cell Transcriptomic Analysis

This study highlights that radioimmunotherapy drives crosstalk between fibroblasts and immune cells (especially macrophages) in the cardiac microenvironment, with IL‐6 as the key mediator, and tocilizumab alleviates cardiac fibrosis by targeting this interplay.

Direct Extracellular Matrix Modulation Attenuates Intestinal Fibrosis via a Fibronectin‐Targeted Approach

Fibronectin regulates the extracellular matrix (ECM)–myofibroblast cycle through three key steps: (1) its secretion and assembly by myofibroblasts (inhibited by pUR4); (2) collagen deposition along its scaffold (inhibited by R1R2); and (3) integrin α5β1‐mediated mechanotransduction (inhibited by ATN161).

ZBTB21 Is a Dual Suppressor of Pyroptosis and MHC‐I Antigen Presentation That Promotes Tumor Immune Evasion

ZBTB21 is a transcription factor that epigenetically suppresses pyroptosis and MHC‐I antigen presentation, enabling tumor immune evasion. Genetic ablation of ZBTB21 activates pyroptotic cell death and enhances antigen presentation, recruiting CD8+ T cells to overcome immune checkpoint blockade resistance.

The Maize ZmbHLH118 Transcription Factor Regulates Vacuolar Nitrate Loading by the NO3− Transporter ZmCLCa

In maize, the bHLH transcription factor ZmbHLH118 directly binds to the promoter of ZmCLCa and inhibits its expression. Tonoplast‐localized ZmCLCa mediates NO3− influx into the vacuole to regulate intracellular NO3− homeostasis, modulating nitrate uptake and metabolism, plant growth, and grain yield.
