Nonpenetrating filtering surgery

Current Opinion in Ophthalmology, 2002
Trabeculectomy is currently the standard filtration procedure for surgical treatment of glaucoma. This technique has advantages over full thickness procedures but can cause early postoperative complications such as hyphema, shallow or flat anterior chamber, hypotony with the risk of choroidal detachment, and maculopathy.

Nonpenetrating Glaucoma Surgery

Survey of Ophthalmology, 2008
Nonpenetrating glaucoma surgeries have been developed in recent years in order to improve the safety of conventional filtering procedures. The goal of nonpenetrating filtering procedures is to reduce intraocular pressure by enhancing the natural aqueous outflow channels, while reducing outflow resistance located in the inner wall of the Schlemm's canal

Traumatic Nonpenetrating Lung Contusion

Radiology, 1965
The response of lung to nonpenetrating blunt trauma of the magnitude that is often found in automotive accidents or falls has not been extensively studied. An evaluation and correlation of roentgenographic and clinical findings in 20 patients with traumatic nonpenetrating contusion of the lung form the basis of this report. In no case was there loss of

Nonpenetrating Cardiac Trauma

Cardiology Clinics, 1995
Blunt cardiac trauma presents unusual fare for the average cardiologist. The pathogenesis of blunt cardiac injuries is reviewed, and a spectrum of cardiac lesions resulting from blunt trauma is presented, with emphasis on noninvasive diagnostic techniques.

Nonpenetrating Subclavian Artery Injuries

Archives of Surgery, 1985
Nonpenetrating subclavian artery trauma, a potentially catastrophic injury, has been recognized more frequently with the liberal use of angiography in evaluating blunt cervicothoracic trauma. Six patients, five men and one woman, recently underwent surgical treatment at the University of Michigan Hospital for blunt injury of the subclavian artery.

Nonpenetrating filtering surgery in glaucoma

Current Opinion in Ophthalmology, 2000
Since 1967, trabeculectomy has been the standard drainage operation for most cases of medically uncontrolled glaucoma. It is associated with significant risk of hypotony, hyphema, choroidal effusion or hemorrhage, and bleb failure. Toward the goal of a safer and more reproducible glaucoma filtering surgery, nonperforating filtering surgeries are now ...

Nonpenetrating deep sclerectomy

Expert Review of Ophthalmology, 2009
With the introduction of nonpenetrating deep sclerectomy (NPDS), the safety profile of filtering surgery has dramatically improved owing to the extraocular nature of the procedure that addresses abnormally increased aqueous outflow resistance in Schlemm’s canal and the juxtacanalicular trabecular meshwork without entering the anterior chamber.

Nonpenetrating clips for coronary anastomosis

The Annals of Thoracic Surgery, 1997
A nonsuture clip technique (nonpenetrating titanium clips applied to everted tissue edges at high compressive forces) was used to perform coronary anastomoses in a clinical setting.Clipped coronary anastomoses were performed in 10 patients. The anastomoses incorporated the left internal mammary artery to the left anterior descending artery (n = 1) and ...

Improved Nonpenetrating Trabeculectomy With Trabeculotomy

Journal of Glaucoma, 2001
To examine surgical effects and complications of improved nonpenetrating trabeculectomy with trabeculotomy in glaucoma patients.Glaucoma patients in two medical institutions underwent nonpenetrating trabeculectomy with sinusotomy with or without trabeculotomy, and the results were compared retrospectively in the two groups by evaluation of final ...
