Nonpenetrating Abdominal Trauma
Archives of Surgery, 1956Penetrating wounds of the abdomen imply underlying visceral damage, and surgical intervention is clearly indicated. Nonpenetrating abdominal injuries are equally lethal, but the seriousness of the injury may be underestimated. In the absence of visible signs of injury to the abdominal wall, the blunt force may be considered insufficient to produce ...

Nonpenetrating Thoracic Injuries
Surgical Clinics of North America, 1977In patients with nonpenetrating thoracic trauma, the rib fractures and other chest wall lesions may distract the physician from dangerous internal injuries in the chest or abdomen which may not be noted unless looked for very carefully. Early vigorous correction of any ventilatory problem is essential, particularly if there is any evidence of impaired ...

Nonpenetrating Glaucoma Surgery
Ophthalmology Clinics of North America, 2005Nonpenetrating glaucoma surgery continues to evolve and improve. New technical refinements and increased experience among its practitioners have led to improved efficacy and longer duration of filter survival. These refinements include the use of intraoperative and postoperative antimetabolites, adjunctive space-maintaining devices, and postoperative ...

Nonpenetrating filtering surgery
Current Opinion in Ophthalmology, 2002Trabeculectomy is currently the standard filtration procedure for surgical treatment of glaucoma. This technique has advantages over full thickness procedures but can cause early postoperative complications such as hyphema, shallow or flat anterior chamber, hypotony with the risk of choroidal detachment, and maculopathy.

Nonpenetrating Glaucoma Surgery
Survey of Ophthalmology, 2008Nonpenetrating glaucoma surgeries have been developed in recent years in order to improve the safety of conventional filtering procedures. The goal of nonpenetrating filtering procedures is to reduce intraocular pressure by enhancing the natural aqueous outflow channels, while reducing outflow resistance located in the inner wall of the Schlemm's canal

Traumatic Nonpenetrating Lung Contusion
Radiology, 1965The response of lung to nonpenetrating blunt trauma of the magnitude that is often found in automotive accidents or falls has not been extensively studied. An evaluation and correlation of roentgenographic and clinical findings in 20 patients with traumatic nonpenetrating contusion of the lung form the basis of this report. In no case was there loss of

Nonpenetrating Subclavian Artery Injuries
Archives of Surgery, 1985Nonpenetrating subclavian artery trauma, a potentially catastrophic injury, has been recognized more frequently with the liberal use of angiography in evaluating blunt cervicothoracic trauma. Six patients, five men and one woman, recently underwent surgical treatment at the University of Michigan Hospital for blunt injury of the subclavian artery.
