The authors develop a deep learning model for real‐time tracking of wound progression. The deep learning framework maps the nonlinear evolution of a time series of images to a latent space, where they learn a linear representation of the dynamics. The linear model is interpretable and suitable for applications in feedback control.

Total variation diminishing nonstandard finite difference schemes for conservation laws [PDF]
Nonstandard finite difference schemes for conservation laws preserving the property of diminishing total variation of the solution are proposed. Computationally simple implicit schemes are derived by using nonlocal approximation of nonlinear terms ...

Predicting Performance of Hall Effect Ion Source Using Machine Learning
This study introduces HallNN, a machine learning tool for predicting Hall effect ion source performance using a neural network ensemble trained on data generated from numerical simulations. HallNN provides faster and more accurate predictions than numerical methods and traditional scaling laws, making it valuable for designing and optimizing Hall ...

Design‐for‐Benchmarking in Soft Robotics: Navigating Component‐System Dichotomy
Soft robotics faces a profound evaluation challenge: the Component‐System Dichotomy, where isolated component tests fail to predict integrated performance. This article presents a systematic survey of critical reporting gaps across actuation, sensing, and control.

Exact and nonstandard finite difference schemes for the Burgers equation B(2,2)
In this paper, we consider the Burgers equation B(2, 2) . Exact and nonstandard finite difference schemes (NSFD) for the Burgers equation B(2, 2) are designed. First, two exact finite difference schemes for the Burgers equation B(2, 2) are proposed using
