Nonstandard hulls of lattice-normed ordered vector spaces
Nonstandard hulls of a vector lattice were introduced and studied in \cite{E10,E9,E7,E5,E3}. In recent paper \cite{EG}, these notions were extended to ordered vector spaces. In the present paper, following the construction of associated Banach-Kantorovich space \cite{E8}, we describe and investigate nonstandard hull of a lattice-normed space, which is ...

Preservation of properties in nonstandard hulls of $C^*$--algebras [PDF]
We extend the nonstandard hull construction of Luxemburg and we show that the proposed extension covers various other constructions such as the tracial and the weak nonstandard hull. We provide a novel proof that the tracial nonstandard hull of an internal von Neumann algebra is itself a von Neumann algebra.

Examples of new nonstandard hulls of topological vector spaces [PDF]
The authors introduce several nonstandard hulls for topological vector spaces. These are defined using convex subrings of \({}^*\mathbb{R}\). If \(\mathbb{F}\) is such a subring and \(E\) is a topological vector space then \(p\in{}^*E\) is \(\mathbb{F}\)-bounded if for every neighbourhood \(U\) of \(0\) in \(E\) there is \(r\in\mathbb{B}\) outside the ...

An approach to nonstandard quantum mechanics
We use nonstandard analysis to formulate quantum mechanics in hyperfinite-dimensional spaces. Self-adjoint operators on hyperfinite-dimensional spaces have complete eigensets, and bound states and continuum states of a Hamiltonian can thus be treated on ...

Hyperfinite-dimensional subspaces of the nonstandard hull of đâ [PDF]
Let c ^ 0 {\hat c_0} be the nonstandard hull of the Banach space c 0 {c_0} formed with respect to an â” 1 {\aleph _1} -saturated extension.

Leadership Skills in Corporate Director Biographies: Substance or Impression Management?
ABSTRACT Research Issue How objective are corporations' disclosures of their board members' skills? Specifically, how changeable are characterizations of directors as possessing leadership skill in reaction to external pressure? Research Insights We mail letters to a quasiârandomly selected half of publicly listed US companies, inquiring whether they ...

Dynamic programming in economics on a quantum annealer
We introduce novel algorithms for solving dynamic programming problems in economics on a quantum annealer, a specialized quantum computer used for combinatorial optimization. Quantum annealers begin in a superposition of all states and generate candidate global solutions in milliseconds, regardless of problem size.

Exponential actions defined by vector configurations, Gale duality, and momentâangle manifolds
Abstract Exponential actions defined by vector configurations provide a universal framework for several constructions of holomorphic dynamics, nonâKĂ€hler complex geometry, toric geometry and topology. These include leaf spaces of holomorphic foliations, intersections of real and Hermitian quadrics, the quotient construction of simplicial toric ...

Compactness of powers of \omega
We characterize exactly the compactness properties of the product of \kappa\ copies of the space \omega\ with the discrete topology. The characterization involves uniform ultrafilters, infinitary languages, and the existence of nonstandard elements in ...

Asymptotics of quantum 6j$6j$âsymbols and generalized hyperbolic tetrahedra
Abstract We establish the geometry behind the quantum 6j$6j$âsymbols under only the admissibility conditions as in the definition of the TuraevâViro invariants of 3âmanifolds. As a classification, we show that the 6âtuples in the quantum 6j$6j$âsymbols give in a precise way to the dihedral angles of (1) a spherical tetrahedron, (2) a generalized ...
