Hyperfinite-Dimensional Representations of Canonical Commutation Relation [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
This paper presents some methods of representing canonical commutation relations in terms of hyperfinite-dimensional matrices, which are constructed by nonstandard analysis.

Subspaces of the Nonstandard Hull of a Normed Space [PDF]

open access: yesTransactions of the American Mathematical Society, 1974
Normed spaces which are isomorphic to subspaces of the nonstandard hull of a given normed space are characterized. As a consequence it is shown that a normed space is B-convex if and only if the nonstandard hull contains no subspace isomorphic to l 1 {l_1} and a Banach space is super-reflexive if ...

CONSTRUCTING NONSTANDARD HULLS AND LOEB MEASURES IN INTERNAL SET THEORIES

open access: yesThe Bulletin of Symbolic Logic, 2022
AbstractCurrently the two popular ways to practice Robinson’s nonstandard analysis are the model-theoretic approach and the axiomatic/syntactic approach. It is sometimes claimed that the internal axiomatic approach is unable to handle constructions relying on external sets.

Nonstandard hulls of locally uniform groups [PDF]

open access: yesFundamenta Mathematicae, 2013
We present a nonstandard hull construction for locally uniform groups in a spirit similar to Luxembourg's construction of the nonstandard hull of a uniform space. Our nonstandard hull is a local group rather than a global group. We investigate how this construction varies as one changes the family of pseudometrics used to construct the hull. We use the

Reduced Coproducts of Compact Hausdorff Spaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 1987
By analyzing how one obtains the Stone space of the reduced product of an indexed collection of Boolean algebras from the Stone spaces of those algebras, we derive a topological construction, the reduced coproduct , which makes sense for indexed ...

Is there club convergence in Latin America? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Previous studies of the income convergence hypothesis for Latin American economies indicate that almost all are not systematically closing their income gap with developed nations.

Preservation of properties in nonstandard hulls of $C^*$--algebras [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of the Belgian Mathematical Society - Simon Stevin, 2015
We extend the nonstandard hull construction of Luxemburg and we show that the proposed extension covers various other constructions such as the tracial and the weak nonstandard hull. We provide a novel proof that the tracial nonstandard hull of an internal von Neumann algebra is itself a von Neumann algebra.

Examples of new nonstandard hulls of topological vector spaces [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 2018
The authors introduce several nonstandard hulls for topological vector spaces. These are defined using convex subrings of \({}^*\mathbb{R}\). If \(\mathbb{F}\) is such a subring and \(E\) is a topological vector space then \(p\in{}^*E\) is \(\mathbb{F}\)-bounded if for every neighbourhood \(U\) of \(0\) in \(E\) there is \(r\in\mathbb{B}\) outside the ...
