A case of Rasmussen's aneurysm caused by pulmonary nontuberculous mycobacterium. [PDF]
Key messageRasmussen's aneurysm was originally described as a rare cause of hemoptysis in tuberculosis. Dilatation of the pulmonary artery wall is caused by tuberculosis inflammation. Recently, the incidence of non‐tuberculous mycobacterial (NTM) disease has increased; it now exceeds that of tuberculosis. We report a Rasmussen's aneurysm due to NTM.

Disseminated Nontuberculous Mycobacterium Presenting as Chronic Diarrhea and Wasting. [PDF]
Infections due to nontuberculous mycobacterium (NTM) are important in chronically immunosuppressed populations and are a particular threat to solid organ transplant recipients (SOT). However, they are not a common occurrence and have protean manifestations, making it important that clinicians maintain a high degree of suspicion in the correct patient ...

General Overview of Nontuberculous Mycobacteria Opportunistic Pathogens: Mycobacterium avium and Mycobacterium abscessus [PDF]
Nontuberculous mycobacteria (NTM) are emerging human pathogens, causing a wide range of clinical diseases affecting individuals who are immunocompromised and who have underlying health conditions. NTM are ubiquitous in the environment, with certain species causing opportunistic infection in humans, including Mycobacterium avium and Mycobacterium ...

Flexor tenosynovitis of the hand due to rare nontuberculous mycobacterium (Mycobacterium haemophilum) in an immunocompromised patient. [PDF]
We report a case of purulent flexor tenosynovitis caused by Mycobacterium haemophilum in an immunosuppressed patient who received renal transplantation. Three synovial debridements and multiple antimicrobial administrations with clarithromycin, rifampicin, and moxifloxacin have been performed.

This study aimed to describe the epidemiology of pulmonary NTM disease in the Jianghan Plain region of Central China. From 2021 to 2023, we collected specimens with positive mycobacterial cultures from the Jianghan Plain and identified species using ...

Non-tuberculous mycobacteria infection presenting as a hepatic allograft abscess
Nontuberculous mycobacteria (NTM) are mycobacterial species other than Mycobacterium tuberculous and Mycobacterium leprae [1]. They are environmental organisms which have been implicated in a wide array of clinical syndromes. Here we describe a case of a
