Determination of cathinone, cathine and norephedrine in hair of Yemenite khat chewers
Forensic Science International, 2003A sensitive and reproducible method for the quantitative determination of cathinone (CTN), norpseudoephedrine (NPE, cathine) and norephedrine (NE) from hair was developed. The compounds were extracted for 4 hours with phosphate buffer pH 2.0, followed by a standard solid phase extraction procedure on a mixed phase column, derivatization with ...

Naturally Occurring Norephedrine Oxazolidine Derivatives in Khat (Catha edulis)
Planta Medica, 2012Khat (Catha edulis Forsk.) is a perennial shrub whose young leaves are chewed for their psychostimulating and anorectic properties. The main active principles of khat are believed to be the phenylpropylamino alkaloids, primarily (-)-cathinone [(S)-α-aminopropiophenone], (+)-cathine [(1S)(2S)-norpseudoephedrine], and (-)-norephedrine [(1R)(2S ...

A specific analytical procedure for the quantitation of amphetamine (I), norephedrine (III), and their amphoteric metabolites, p-hydroxy-amphetamine (II) and p-hydroxynorephedrine (IV), in biological samples using electron-capture gas chromatography (GC-EC) is described.

Trifluoromethyl analogs of amphetamine and norephedrine
Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 1967Trifluoromethyl analogs of amphetamine (I) and norephedrine (II) were synthesized for pharmacological evaluation. They showed no activity in profile tests for anorectic activity (I), antiemetic activity (I), CNS activity (I), MAO-inhibitory activity (I, II), and pressor activity (II).

Conformational Behavior of Norephedrine, Ephedrine, and Pseudoephedrine
Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2009A conclusive identification of the different conformers of the neurotransmitters ephedrine, norephedrine, and pseudoephedrine has been carried out in the gas-phase by molecular beam Fourier transform microwave (MB-FTMW) spectroscopy. Three conformers of norephedrine, three conformers of ephedrine, and four conformers of pseudoephedrine have been ...

Thermodynamic Parameters Associated with the Binding of Adrenalin and Norephedrine to Heparin
International Journal of Radiation Biology and Related Studies in Physics, Chemistry and Medicine, 1983Pulse radiolysis has been used to determine the thermodynamic parameters (delta G', delta H' and delta S') governing the binding of adrenalin and norephedrine to heparin. These complexes were completely dissociated by increasing concentrations of inorganic salts. Lower concentrations of divalent cations (e.g. Ca2+) than of monovalent cations (e.g. Na+)

Resolution of α-hydroxystannanes via norephedrine carbamates
Tetrahedron, 2002Norephedrine carbamate derivatives of α-hydroxystannanes can be readily prepared and the resulting diastereomers are separable by column chromatography. Removal of the carbamate moiety by reduction provides enantiomerically-enriched α-hydroxystannanes.

Quantum mechanical conformational analysis of heterocyclic analogues of norephedrine
Chemico-Biological Interactions, 1980Studies on the conformation of several structural analogues of norephedrine, thiophene, carbazole and furan, were carried out using the differential PCILO method. The erythro-forms of these compounds possess minima on the conformation map corresponding to a gauche conformation with synclinal H-atoms.

Powder Diffraction, 1992
Abstract X-ray powder diffraction data for the three title compounds are reported. The crystals of all three compounds are monoclinic and the space group is P2 1 (No. 4) in each case.
