Effect of Norethynodrel in Rheumatoid Arthritis
JAMA: The Journal of the American Medical Association, 1965To the Editor:— The report by Gilbert et al in the Negative Results section ( JAMA 190 :235 [Oct 19] 1964) on norethynodrel with mestranol provides a feeble basis for rejecting the earlier observation 1 that drug-induced pseudopregnancy alleviates rheumatoid arthritis in women. Effects of Norethynodrel With Mestranol on the Rabbit Eye
Archives of Ophthalmology, 1969Ocular and systemic effects developed during and after administration of large doses of oral contraceptives in female rabbits. A slight pressure decrease in normal and hereditarily buphthalmic eyes was observed. Inhibition of dietary atherosclerosis in rabbits by norethynodrel
Journal of Atherosclerosis Research, 1967Summary Norethynodrel administered to rabbits reduces the atherogenicity of a cholesterol diet in part through its effect on serum cholesterol. Norethynodrel in The Treatment of Factor X Deficiency
Archives of Internal Medicine, 1964The demonstrated improvement of factor X (Prower-Stuart factor) deficiency during pregnancy, 1 and the further demonstration by Alexander and Pechet 2 of increased clotting factors during pregnancy, has prompted the use of norethynodrel, a progestational agent, in the control of this clotting disorder. The case to be reported has been the subject of a
