On Normal Integral Bases

open access: yesTokyo Journal of Mathematics, 1984
Necessary and sufficient conditions for a Galois extension \(K/k\) of number fields to have a normal integral basis (n.i.b.) have been given by \textit{A. Fröhlich} [J. Reine Angew. Math. 209, 39--53 (1962; Zbl 0105.02901)]. A simple necessary condition for existence of a n.i.b. is that \(K/k\) be tamely ramified.

Electronic Circular Dichroism Spectra of DNA Quadruple Helices Studied by Molecular Dynamics Simulations and Excitonic Calculations including Charge Transfer States

open access: yesMolecules, 2021
We here investigate the Electronic Circular Dichroism (ECD) Spectra of two representative Guanine-rich sequences folded in a Quadruple helix (GQ), by using a recently developed fragment diabatisation based excitonic model (FrDEx).

Low complexity normal bases

open access: yesDiscrete Applied Mathematics, 1989
A normal basis in a finite field is a basis of conjugate elements in the field. The complexity of the normal basis is defined to be the number of nonzero terms in certain bilinear form obtained from multiplication of elements. The authors investigate low complexity normal bases and give a construction for such bases.

Why and When Are Evidence‐Based Interventions Adopted in Paediatric Supportive Care? A Qualitative Exploration of the Determinants of Photobiomodulation Implementation

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Oral mucositis is a common and debilitating side effect of childhood cancer and stem cell transplant treatments. It affects the quality of life of children and young people (CYP) and places a strain on services. Photobiomodulation is recommended for oral mucositis prevention in international guidance but is poorly implemented in UK ...

Clinical Insights Into Hypercalcemia of Malignancy in Childhood

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Hypercalcemia of malignancy (HCM) is a rare but life‐threatening metabolic emergency in children that occurs in less than 1% of pediatric cancer cases, with a reported incidence ranging from 0.4% to 1.0% across different studies. While it is observed in 10%–20% of adult malignancies, pediatric HCM remains relatively uncommon.

The lipid composition of the electric organ of the ray, Torpedo marmorata, with specific reference to sulfatides and Na+-K+-ATPase.

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1979
The lipids from the electric organ of the ray, Torpedo marmorata, have been isolated and characterized. The major lipids were cholesterol, choline phospholipids, ethanolamine phospholipids, and sphingomyelins.

Evaluating the Utility of Paired Tumor and Germline Targeted DNA Sequencing for Pediatric Oncology Patients: A Single Institution Report

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To evaluate the diagnostic yield and utility of universal paired tumor–normal multigene panel sequencing in newly diagnosed pediatric solid and central nervous system (CNS) tumor patients and to compare the detection of germline pathogenic/likely pathogenic variants (PV/LPVs) against established clinical referral criteria for cancer ...

Normal bases of PI-algebras

open access: yesAdvances in Applied Mathematics, 2006
This is a survey on selected aspects of the algorithmic theory of PI-algebras, in terms of normal bases of affine (finitely generated) algebras, with indication of directions for further research, written by three of the leading experts in the field.

Normal Bases on Galois Ring Extensions [PDF]

open access: yesSymmetry, 2018
In this paper we study the normal bases for Galois ring extension ${{R}} / {Z}_{p^r}$ where ${R}$ = ${GR}$(pr, n). We present a criterion on normal basis for ${{R}} / {Z}_{p^r}$ and reduce this problem to one of finite field extension $\overline{R} / \overline{Z}_{p^r}=F_{q} / F_{p}  (q=p^n)$ by Theorem 1. We determine all optimal normal bases
