Hemodynamics in atrial flutter with spontaneous reversion to normal sinus rhythm

American Heart Journal, 1957
Abstract During cardiac catheterization of a 31-year-old woman with mitral stenosis, the development of atrial flutter and subsequent spontaneous reversion to normal sinus rhythm provided an opportunity to study the hemodynamic effects of the arrhythmia under ideally controlled conditions. The ventricular rate remained constant; no cardiac drugs were

Coexisting Normal Sinus Rhythm and Atrial Fibrillation 18 Years after Heart Transplant

Journal of Cardiac Surgery, 2008
Atrial fibrillation is an important cardiogenic cause of embolic phenomenon to the brain leading to stroke and long-term disability. Recognition of atrial fibrillation is of cardinal importance in the workup of stroke and transient ischemic attack (to prevent future strokes) by the timely institution of anticoagulation therapy.

Hyperkalemia-induced conversion of permanent atrial fibrillation to normal sinus rhythm

Journal of Cardiovascular Medicine, 2011
The electrocardiographic manifestations of hyperkalemia have been well described. We report the case of a patient with permanent atrial fibrillation for 13 months, who converted to normal sinus rhythm after treatment for hyperkalemia. This is the first case of hyperkalemia-induced conversion of permanent atrial fibrillation to sinus rhythm with a well ...

[Supraventricular paroxysmal tachycardias with normal electrocardiogram in sinus rhythm].

Archivos del Instituto de Cardiologia de Mexico, 1984
Paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) was studied in 46 patients with normal electrocardiogram (ECG) during sinus rhythm (SR), All of them had had at least one SVT crisis. They all complained of palpitations starting and ending abruptly, and of more than one hour duration.

Hyperkalemia-Induced Conversion of Chronic Atrial Fibrillation to Normal Sinus Rhythm;

Angiology, 1979
The electrocardiographic manifestations of hyperkalemia have been well described. We report a patient with chronic congestive heart failure and atrial fibrillation for 6 years, who converted to sinus rhythm during an episode of hyperkalemia. To our knowl edge, this is the first report of hyperkalemia- induced conversion of chronic atrial fibrilla ...

Spontaneous reversion to normal sinus rhythm after prolonged atrial fibrillation.

Acta cardiologica, 1981
Two patients are reported in whom there was a spontaneous reversion to normal sinus rhythm after atrial fibrillation had persisted ten and fourteen years respectively. One of these patients was an exception to the general rule in as much as there was a clinical improvement when sinus rhythm appeared again.
